Shuttle Shenanigans

Yeh it is quite low, in fact never had a nice spoiler on my 5.1 so not used to be "aware" plus it isnt somewhere I would usually drive and was a bit focused on teh rear - I mean completely my fault, the "badly designed" was just a bit of deflection for my mistake. :slow rofl:
Every KFC drive-through is badly designed mate... they invariably lead to a KFC outlet.

Temporarily fitted my led “knight rider” light before a quick trip to Europe, didn’t concentrate properly about how it might show when bonnet is shut so it’s not perfect and will need adjusting.

Not sure how others have stuck them when going across grill so interested to see

Eventually got my gloss black dash trims installed.

Let’s see if the instrument console is an issue with reflections. Easily fixed if it is.

After continued battery issues resulting in a need to jump start EVERYTIME engine turned off no matter how a long s drive it has been on became white van man.

Big up to CVS in Canterbury as less than 24 hours after dropping mine off it had a new battery under warranty and they just couldn’t understand why other garage didn’t do it.

After a third incident with the spoiler in as many months whilst waiting for my body shop slot it actually ripped off on a grass verge when turning in the road……..then went under front wheel however now it was stuck so then had to drag it along road and drive over it with rear wheels to get it free.

Other than road rashes it is in surprisingly good shape.

Am thinking I will not put it back on as whilst I like look of it it doesn’t seem to fit with where I travel and how I drive however let’s see how i feel about front end once washed and the remaining adhesive is removed AE1EF6CF-1354-4C08-AE61-C8A49FFACDB1.webp

Slightly peeved the very expensive passenger single seat been damaged. Only recently had heated elements added (not wired up yet)

However grateful it didn’t completely catch fire

Never ever had an issue with power banks and loose leads however won’t be leaving leads plugged in again and lying on the seat.

Those things are banned on many offshore platforms and ships, major fire risk.

I assume you mean the power bank and not the curly cable (which is what caused the issue here rather than the power bank itself)

French bugs in full force on trip to Paris last week.

I’ve never really washed my own vehicles and since getting this one been using a couple of local bakers but becoming expensive and both are super busy so I really have to plan.

Been buying a few products here and there and also got a trolley to keep it all on.

Interior out for some wiring changes Including switching over the 12v sockets so all switch on with ignition.

Added an additional 6 way fuse box for switched live options fed by a relay triggered by piggyback feed from fuse box so if it goes for warranty work then unplugging one cable and one fuse will mean it is all disconnect…….

Busy week fracking on with the electrics and getting bumper off, fixed and repainted.

Don’t go driving without a front bumper on the motorway or else you’ll need new arch liners.

Disappointed with the THq gloss black dog bones and paint is flaking off. Hopefully a call will have this easily resolved.

Moved the relays and fuses to the back seat. Much easier to access and although they at first appear “exposed” once you had the rear plastic kick plate hides them all nicely.

IMG_4857.webp

Bought a cheapish electric screwdriver as they kept popping up on suggestions on Amazon.

Have to say it’s pretty impressive for what it costs. Feature I like is that it operates if you push the unit onto the screw as well as if you use the button. Made removal and replacement of dash screws super easy and fast (yes I know it is easy and quick anyway) IMG_4855.webp

Ran the wires for the front fog light and spare ignition live feed into engine bay.

More complicated than a t5 to remove battery but wasn’t too challenging.

Screen already had a couple of large stone chip cracks so wasn’t too worried when I put the ladder in but mispositioned it.

Winched them into the garage loft. IMG_5277.jpeg

Frustrated that the double sided tape failed on both sides off he van-x glovebox cover and popped it onto the floor. Thankfully not shiny side down so not too much damage.

They were pretty quick to send a new one.

I moved to fixed servicing when I got her so in for an oil and filter change at my friends new workshop (he’s usually mobile).

Meant got to have a gander underneath.

And wow the size of exhaust and various bits.

Got replacement dog bones from Lv under warranty. Should have actually opened and checked them as it was ONLY after bumper was off realised sed there were two NS and zero OS (the one I needed) in the box.

So van was sat for four days whilst TNT couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery to deliver the replacement. Still didn’t arrive by time I had to go to London so had to put number back on then take it all off AGAIN 2 days later.

Took advantage of replacing the inner wheel arches which I’d buggered when driving it without a bumper.

IMG_5491.webpIMG_5493.webpIMG_5495.webp

Never been happy with the black grill fitment as it always pops out on OS. Added a tiny Allen bolt and then did same for NS.

Whilst van was off the road took the time to do the door sound deadening and upgraded the speakers. Audiofrog from SCR

one of the wires wasn’t soldered too well so glad to have found that before putting it all back together. IMG_5558.webpIMG_5562.webpIMG_5567.webpIMG_5720.webpIMG_5721.webp

I’d actually done one side and driven to the London and back before doing the other side. Was significantly noticeable on the improvement.

Extra floor brackets on drivers side in third row allows more flexibility on seating arrangements as I’ve got a spare mid row single (the one with the belt)
