Shark Fin DAB + GPS

I’m going to be installing a shark fin on the roof for better DAB reception for my Kenwood 8020dabs headunit.

Is it worth getting a combined DAB and GPS aerial?

I use Waze via wireless sapless play. Will a GPS aerial improve the sat nav of will it remain dependent on the iPhone GPS?

I think you’ll be tied to Waze on your iPhone. It is difficult to pair the phone with the gps feed and with the headunit.

I’d be interested to know if others have cracked it other than changing their headunit

AFAIK It uses both. The phones GPS is augmented by the stereos GPS. You'll find stereos without built in nav also come with a GPS antenna just for this purpose.

That said I believe the Kenwood unit has GPS for the built satnav so maybe the software in the head unit combines the 2 somehow but again I'm not sure.

We have shark fins on the website we can send whichever configuration you want they come with a 5-meter extension leads so the fin can go wherever you choose.
