Service Query - Flexible & All-in Options

My van is shortly 4 years old (June 2023) so I am aware MOT, timing belt, water pump, aux belt and DSG service are required. But, I also *assume* an engine service (minor or major) is also due.

I bought it approved used at 3 years old (June 2022j and it had just been MOT’d for the first time. I also got a service history print out that showed it had been serviced twice in the 3 years - a minor at 18 months and then a major at 3 years.

The print out also shows the service type as ‘flexible’ which I assume means it is based on the dashboard countdown rather than rigid yearly services.

My dashboard service info is currently showing service not due for 400 days or 14,000 miles and an inspection in 40 days - I know the inspection is the MOT.

If I go by the dashboard info then it doesn’t appear to need a service until this time next year (it won’t have done 14,000 before that), but I get two services included in the All-in plan which runs until December 2024.

If I go onto the VW commercial website and try to book a service neither a minor or a major service is available to select.

Is there a way I can force my van to be serviced in June 2023 and swap to the annual schedule rather than flexible?
I am worried that by the time the All-in plan runs out I might not have used the 2 services.

Just decide what schedule you want and book it over the phone. Forget what the computer says. You do have 3 years to use the 2 services, I had a minor 9 months into my plan and the major will be in another 18 months time. If you want some setting changed in your computer they will do that for you. My main dealer matched the cam belt price by the local indie specialist despite no offer being on.

To follow this up for the search….

I contacted the dealer and explained I only did just over 3500 miles in the last year and wanted to switch to annual rather than flexible.

No problem sir, the technician will update the onboard computer accordingly.

So it has just had a minor service included in All-in plan and now shows next one is due in 365 days or 12000 miles which will be the major included in the All-in.
