Safari windows fitted

Only just come across these and now deciding whether to ask for them. Has anyone else had issues with leaking?

Love the open lock position for camping :)
Having been fitted for nearly a year now the only issue I've had is when I heard a rattle and wind noise on one drive, a quick check over soon identified one of the handles had gotten a little loose so nipped it up with an allen key and job sorted. It's only happened once but something to keep in mind
Bit late to this thread, but I have found that the handles on the safari window fitted to the sliding door loosens over time (likely mechanical wear due to opening/closing the slider), maybe a case for some lok-tight? They just need nipping up every now and then, when road noise gets noticeable.

Also be wary of the turn screws for locking the window in the open position; i've already lost one (also sliding door side - same issue at a guess), but thankfully they stay open with only one.

Generally found these to be great; only downside is I haven't worked out how to get a decent mozzie net seal around the drivers side window for a thru draft in warmer climes.

Yes thats a good point on the mozzie net. You can get nice fitted ones for the sliding windows. Hmm

I've got a full mozzie net for the sliding door side opening which is great, just need something for the driver's side (get some thru-draft from the tailgate partially open on an extension bar, but not enough). The only thing I can come up with for the driver's side mozzie net is velcro maybe behind the curtains, but the net would need to be slack enough to accommodate the handles. Tricky.

There is obviously the security issue of having the sliding door window open (interior door handle accessible), so for the highly security conscious or solo traveler I would recommend using the child lock on the slider. This is a bit of a faff in the morning as it means you have to exit the van either via front doors or tailgate/barn door to open the slider from the outside. Off-topic, apologies.

So just found a little hack...maybe others have found this before me haha..so 1st pic is the locked windows, then just found a little space to lock the latch in safely for driving (2nd pic) :)

Anyone had a handle just fall off?! Mine parted company with the glass as I was driving home from work today. Not sure why, looks like wharever thry used to bond it just wasn't stuck properly. Not thrilled.
Excess heat + vibration from driving?
Not seen that before/ yet.
You had them 12 months yet?

Faulty goods
All our items are covered by a 12 month limited warranty unless otherwise stated

I mean it's been warm for oop north, high 20s but nothing excessive. No harsh vibration, driving through town so no more than 30mph. It just gave up. I've dropped CamperGlass/THQ a message, window is less than 3 months old and has been fitted for around a month. I know it'll be covered but that means I'm still out of pocket if I have to pay installer to have original taken out so it can be replaced and van will be off road. This is my daily.

No don't worry this is exactly what happened to us...they will send you the glue it's easy to do yourself....so that happened then a few weeks later went in the van an the other handle on the same window fell off so had to do the other one too...both times they sent the glue..I think the original adhesive wasn't done correctly...the safari window on the opposite side of our van touchwood has been fine

Awesome. Hopefully as easy as that sounds. Love the window. Glad it's something that sounds like it can be sorted without it coming out!
