Rear tails on as DRL's

It is crackers that the rear lights aren't on as well. I remember it was a standard feature on my wife's old 61plate Touran, which was a good thing, then it went in for the dreaded emissions update, and came back without the rear lights working on auto. Bonkers.

So i want the taillights on all the time. Used to be the rule here in Norway until the EU messed it up... But reading this thread makes me wonder: Is there a problem with having the front side lights on all the time? Or is it just for looks people want them off? Most older cars here just had them on all the time, including every other car I've ever owned. None of them had a dedicated DRL though, just used dipped beams with or without reduced intensity.

Edit: I have standard H4 headlights

This is impossible to achieve via coding modification on H7 headlamp setup.
And the reason is quite simple ---> front and rear side lights are fed together by dedicated BCM outputs (one for RHS and one for LHS).
Is it possible on the 6.1 with LEDs front and rear? Thanks.

I won't be able to verify this myself until next week.
If you wish to try it yourself, go to central electrics module 09 and select adaptations and from the channel list select:
Außenlicht_Front Tagfahrlicht
and then
Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht
and change this setting to active

Thanks, I might have a go this weekend if time permits. I will report back any findings.
