Portable Power Packs - LifePo4 Battery Boxes -- How I done It --

Having quickly skimmed the main site what the product images don't get across is those are actually physically quite large...

I really like the idea, but I think it would be more widely taken up with slightly simpler and smaller units.

So decided on the Anker SOLIX C1000. Next to decide do I need a roof solar panel as I fear it’ll take decades to charge up over the 12v supply

By the looks of it that has a single XT60 input for both car and solar charging so you can't do both at the same time.

In the specs this allows 10A under 32v and 12.5A over that up to 60v

So the ideal would be to arrange a reasonably cabled and fused (15A?) fixed feed from your electrics to an XT60 to plug in to charge from the van as 10A is a bit heavy long term in a traditional 12v socket.

To get significantly faster from solar you are going to need panels that generate over 32v and 10A to 12.5A isn't the biggest jump so nearer the mid 50v really.

I did the exact same thing! I ordered the c1000 + The expansion battery, awsome deal!

I am looking to charge it will driving using one of these options.
If I am correct, using the Victron Orion TR Smart DC-DC Or the regular one, I should have something like 300 watts vs 120watts max using the 12v car charger.

What do you think?

I've just ordered 2x Ecoflow River 2 Pro - cos they are available refurbished on amazon at £363 each (with a 30% off voucher) just seemed ridiculously low price and I figured I get 50% more juice for the same price I would have paid for the delta 2. (The delta 2 is also available at £609) Hope there is nothing wrong with it. Search for renewed and make sure you redeem the voucher.

Could someone let me know if they think using something like the allpowers s700 or r600 would be good enough for a couple of nights away to keep devices and a compressor cool box running?

The r600 is down to £200 currently

Say hello to the latest family member.....

EF Delta2 Max

The bigger brother to the Delta2.

2400w/3100w and 2048wh

Now with twin DC inputs and 2400w mains charge.

Plus EF have just Beta released a DC-DC charger that can charge up to 800w from the engine bay.... nice !! (Looks like it will work with all Delta units) ( Basically a EF OEM version of the 12-48v step up bost converter, charging the internal 48v battery direct from the side expansion port)

It's a one stop portable EHU shop, where as the Delta2 was a bit short in capacity at 1024wh, allowing 80% of that. It was a bit to short for a weekend.

The Delta2 MAX now doubles the capacity to 2048wh and bumps the inverter size a bit too....

Roll on the next camp out for a test....

With twin DC inputs for solar or dc-dc up to 1000w this should allow me to run my Chico 700w heater in the van off grid, as well as the kettle, coffee machine, fridges etc etc..... if if I run out of juice a quick plug in to EHU will see me charging at 10A from the post or up to 2400w.... Now that's FAST!

Just a few pics for now.

..

There is one bigger, the delta pro, but the size is just too big.

It's like the three little bears...

The Delta2 just to small.?

The delta pro too big?

Let's see if their Delta2 Max is just right.

******

This will be portable, dropped in the van when needed.

I'll be using a pair of XT 60i to SB50 Anderson connectors for the DC charge..... Connected to a 230ah lithium under the seat. That will have a 50A dc-dc engine bay charger - eventually.

...

Remember that the unit limits the 12v car charge to 100w or 8A to stop the socket melting.

They are using the newer orange XT60i connector that has a third pin that tell the unit the max charge rate.

So the 12v socket cable is limited to 100w.

But the solar/PV link cable is set to allow up to 500w by allowing higher voltages
