New Pressure-Washer needed

Agreed, but to be fair to the Aldi stuff they've only ever cost less than £80, so works out at less than £20 per year, which isn't bad when you're using them as much as I do.
The AVA machine I've ordered should be better, it costs more than 8 times as much but it has a brass pump and a 20 year warranty.
I just like top of the range quality with a service back up. Hey ho each to their own. Bit like cars 🤣

I got a Nilfisk as I read the internals were better quality than the equivalent Karcher. However, the little wheels have broken which make it a pain to manoeuvre so I’m not totally convinced the quality internals carry over to the rest of it.

I am impressed with my AVA, except the sonw foam thingy majig.

Only time will tell if I was right to go for an AVA, but a 20 year warranty suggests they trust their product, and yes, I know it depends on you buying service kits at certain intervals, but I'm OCD at that anyway (same as for the T6!) so that's not a problem for me.

I’m just about to bin a c110 - I can break for spares!

Same.... The snow foam bottle on mine does not tighten. I have found that a standard juice bottle will screw on. I am at present using a 1litre bottle. No more spilling my polar wash before I've even started! Seems a simple thing to have designed out!

That not the problem with mine. Everything is fine. But it just seems to be really hard to get decent foam and it uses a lot of solution.

Not a problem for me;
Right, I'm gonna say it.........
Snowfoam looks great, impresses the neighbours and makes kids laugh.
But I'm not doing it again.
Today I put my usual snowfoam solution in a knapsack sprayer, diluted it and sprayed the van all over. Then I went over it again to make sure I hadn't missed anywhere. I then pressure washed as per usual.
I used about half the amount of product as I normally used and it worked brilliantly, if a lot less fun to watch.

I’ve just bought my 5th PW in 25 years - 2 karcher and 2 Nilfisk. I’ve decided on going cheap(er) with a Hawksmoor from Toolstation which is purported to have a metal pump - £60.

The problem has been working out the fittings to enable use of my 10m hose / trigger nozzle from Hosesdirect. It is nilfisk connector one end and 11.8 quick connector the other. Then there is a fitting thats 1/2bsp to quick connector that went on the nilfisk machine, with 14mm spigot.

Whatever I looked at had a different fitting on the machine - I probably spent 2 hours researching adaptors - rabbit hole doesn’t do it justice! The hawksmoor has a threaded outlet which is why I went for it.

Unfortunately its 22mm with 15mm bore which is super rare - after further research I found 1 Amazon listing with the correct thread, spigot size and quick connector. I was convinced it was a listing error and it would be the more common 14mm spigot. Checking with the verniers on arrival all is correct. Happy days.

If I was just using the supplied hose / lance it would be simple. Because of the desire to continue using the 10m aftermarket hose, which does get around cars anywhere on the drive without moving the machine, it has complicated matters!

Anyway, all sorted and ready to test the new oneIMG_7522.webp
