New owner, no idea.....

Finally got round to getting the van out. The red neon is not working at all but the socket tester didn't show that there were any problems. Quick questions about how the system works - does the leisure battery supply all the power for the sockets (through an invertor) / sink pump etc. and the electric hook up keep the battery topped up or does the EHU provide the power directly to the sockets? Is there anything I can use to check the charge level of the LB, I have seen a few socket panels that have a display on them but not on my van?

Unless you have an inverter & a sophisticated management system (highly doubtful) your 240 sockets are only live when on a functional EHU. As to the rest, who knows. If you’re not sure how it all works, we’d only be guessing without knowing the specifics of your system. Weren’t you given any manuals or information when you bought the van?

If you can't find any documents (I'd hope you would have the manuals for any kit fitted) then I would do some digging and follow the wires. Take pictures as you go and try to draw a diagram out.

In a basic system the 12v and 240v might be wholly separate. Nothing wrong with that as simplicity has it's own value.

Unfortunately I haven't found any manuals

Update on this... found a decent campervan specialist who, while fitting a new fridge gave the electrics the once over and sorted a couple of issues with the charging system....
