Mobiframe Composite Flooring System

Has anyone slept on the SAF bed yet? We are moving from RIB to Mobiframe. To me, when laying down on it briefly, it felt more comfortable than the RIB without padding. I would never use it without something extra, but with the RIB we use a 2” comfortz memory foam mattress topper AND the 2.5cm duvulay sleeping bags. It’s comfy, but wondering if I can get away with less padding on the Mobiframe? Either changing to the thicker Duvulays on their own, or a thinner mattress.

Cheers
I slept on the MOBIFRAME bed as is once. It was doable but not comfortable. I purchased a folding mattress, 80mm high and it’s better than my bed at home!

Which mattress did you go for? I agree it’s not doable on its own but the rib was far worse I think! I used to use mattress plus duvulay sleeping bags on the rib but can get away with just the sleeping bags at a push. I’m looking at maybe picking up a custom duvulay at the camping show this week as I can get it made longer and a more snug fit sideways

Photo 👆 it’s a Tencel from eBay. Perfect fit width wise on a 150cm bed and bang on length wise too. It folds into three and with a strap can remain compact. It sits nicely on the back shelf of the bed too. The sections can all unzip and to remove the outer cover for washing. Plus the grey side has a slight grain to it to stop it sliding around.

Yeah, I figured. That’s my one regret on my van, but at the time I wasn't even aware these rail systems existed.
It’s a massive benefit tbh. So much flexibility with the van now from the ability to carry more stuff as a van, to where we position the bed. Perhaps you could retrofit if your units can be removed?

Yeah, I got a rough quote from the converters for the Glidemotion system to be retrofitted, +£7,000. If I was going to retrofit, I would definitely go with the mobiframe though through someone else.

We'll have to see what the Christmas bonus is like haha

Are the rails safe for dogs claws, and people's toes? looks like you could do yourself some mischief?

Never had an issue on either count! They’re sunk into the floor and you’d have to be pretty unlucky to hurt yourself on them

Has anyone purchased the universal accessory mount that allows you to fit custom furniture? I’m looking at whether I could use these to secure a subwoofer to the rails. Either by using that bracket or trying to reverse engineer the system and get something made up. The brackets aren’t in stock and no eta. If nobody has any insight on them, perhaps someone can advise how securely the bike mounts are when tightened? One question I have is whether they would be likely to rattle.

Also separate question - for anyone who has bought the cycle mount any issues? It looks like the design has changed from the one in the mobiframe brochure to the one on the camper warehouse website?

Cheers
i got two to make a work-floor type effort to throw in and lock in place. they are quite clumsy. can send you pics if you're struggling to find info

No it’s fine in the end I just found generic ones on Amazon that work with the rails. Hell of a lot cheaper! Thanks

Did you have this installed on site mate I know they give that as an option now.

If so do you mind me asking what they charge? May be worth it for my next van

And no, I'm not being paid by these people but they have been very helpful and patient to me. :)

Can I ask please, where did you get the bike mounting kit from ? I have a T6.1 Kombi van in conversion and it will have a Mobiframe floor, and I need to transport 2 eMTB's safely. Very interested in these fittings if you can or anyone else can advise please. Many thanks.

What rear step cover did you use?
You want this one from Van-X. It’s deeper, wider and can also fit the roll down THQ rear bumper protector if you want one.
