Led Strips Inside Headlights? (canbus)(legality)

Hi all. Have really been pondering the idea of customising a set of H4 headlights, putting in Hids and strips.
Have a few ideas and was wondering if anyone had done anything like this and / or what strips did they use to get round any Canbus errors?
Also I should ask how far you can go with customisations and adding aftermarket daylight running lights to vehicles.(legally)

Yes they are - and MOT testers have been given instructions to check for such mods. It's not really possible to "hide" HID, not only because of the colour, but also the flicker as they are switched on. Plus, the ballast unit is usually easy to spot.

Shouldn't be a problem with fitting aftermarket DRLs, though they will have to comply with relevant positioning regulations and should also dim (or go off) when the vehicles lights are switched on.
