Hunter Alignment setup

Well after having 4 tyres last me 5000 miles I have replaced all 4 with decent rubber and am booked into the workshop for Hunter 4 wheel alignment.
Not knowing how experienced this workshop is with campers I would like to give them some suggested target adjustments to make.

Does the below settings sound about right?

I have taken this from a combination of my own research across forums, my own mechanical knowledge and of course Google AI to assist with research!

VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Model: VW Transporter (T5/T6) Campervan Conversion
  • Suspension: Lowered 70mm–95mm on SoLow NSL Coilovers
  • Wheels/Tyres: 20" x 8.5J | 265/40R20 (Experiencing heavy inner-edge wear)
Because of the heavy campervan weight and wide 265-section tyres on an 8.5J rim, standard factory commercial pressures will cause the tyre center to bow, intensifying inner-edge wear.Target Pressure (Front & Rear): Set all tyres to a minimum of 42 PSI to 45 PSI (Cold). Please ensure pressures are equalized to this standard before commencing the rolling compensation.

1. MACHINE PROFILE Selection
Please DO NOT use the standard commercial/panel van database profile.

Select Profile: VW Transporter Sportline OR Lowered Chassis (PR-2MD / PR-2MK).

Load Rating: Treat as a No-Load / Empty Vehicle setup. (Do not apply factory automated half-load calculations, as the camper conversion weight is static).

2. REAR AXLE TARGETS (CRITICAL FOR TYRE WEAR)
Rear Camber: This vehicle has a fixed rear axle with no factory camber adjustment. Expect a natural heavy negative drop (-2°10' to -2°50'). Leave as-is.

Rear Toe: To counteract the negative camber and stop inner-edge scrubbing, please dial the toe to the maximum positive limit (Toe-In).
Target Individual Toe: +0°10' (Per side)
Target Total Rear Toe: +0°20'

3. FRONT AXLE TARGETS

Steering Wheel: Please center using a spirit level and lock with the steering clamp before adjusting track rods.

Front Camber: Also non adjustable, expect higher negative readings.
Front Toe: Adjust to a positive toe-in setting to stabilize the wide 265-section tyres.

Target Individual Toe: +0°05' (Per side)
Target Total Front Toe: +0°10' (Toe-In)

4. FINAL SIGN-OFF CHECK
Thrust Angle is at 0°00' (±0°02').
Final Front Total Toe is positive (+0°10').
Final Rear Total Toe is positive (+0°20').

If anyone has any thoughts or recommendations in this other than I'm probably gonna piss off the technician please let me know!

My tuppence...

Have you asked if they have experience aligning campers? If they have, the above input may well piss them off and, if they haven't, I'd consider going elsewhere.

If you are confident that the information is correct then you are doing the correct thing.
You are offering to pay a company to work to your specification, they can take it or leave it.
Dropping a van off at a garage with two way verbal comments ending with ‘we’ll see what we can do, come back after lunch’ can and often is a recipe for disappointment and wasted £.
You just need to be sure that your spec’ is 100% which I suspect is why your asking here.
Well done.

Thank you, that is exactly my thought process, i have worked in dealers all my life (well until 6 years ago!) and i know how conditioned you can get to following manufacturer specs to the letter or nothing!

Looking at the hunter pictures on here i have noticed most appear to be at around +0.15 rear total toe, so as not wanting to ruin my expensive set of new tyres but with no way of adjusting camber at present, do i aim for roughly the same or that little bit more?

Not a clue, I work on the basis that the manufacturer spent a lot of effort getting the running gear geometry correct and I don’t need to f*ck with it.

What are they like Lee? They know how that machine works properly? Or are they chancers? I remember them trying to do my van on half load.
Suppose it depends on who you get on the day working the machine....

They mast have done a good job at the time as the tyres always wear evenly.
