How effective is the in-built Steering Column lock at stopping theft?

I'm really appreciating all the helpful threads about security on this forum, lots of great advice, but one thing I can't find anything about (and I've searched), is how effective is the in-built steering column lock in the T6 at preventing thefts (if it's engaged!)? I know a disc lock has the benefit of being a PITA for thieves, and is a good visual deterrent (importance of security layers etc)... but does the steering column lock do a similar thing in stopping thefts when push comes to shove? Or do the pro's find it too easy to disengage and just drive off?

It can be overcome with enough force.

But we're talking about a big leaver and some destructive effort on the steering wheel.

I believe the preferred method is to sit on the passenger seat and kick at the wheel spokes until the lock breaks or the wheel comes off

I must admit that I’ve never seen a transporter one done, but with virtually any other vehicle, a pro thief will have the column lock disengaged in about the same time as you could with the keys.
If someone wants it enough, it’s getting stolen. Disc locks make it slightly harder and noisier, but the visual deterrent usually is enough to keep them moving down the road until they find something easier
