We currently have a van in our workshop with a HiLo roof fitted to it. We don't fit these so dont get much of a chance to get up close and personal to them but having spent time around the roof and van over the past few weeks we couldn't help noticing that the carpeted bed board and cab closure thingy look a little bit naff!!! Now I have no idea if these bits are made by HiLo or individually by the converter that fits the roof??? The customer that owns this van (which is a show van on air) is a mate of ours and has supported us over the years so we feel like doing something a little bit special to his van as a treat to say thanks. So we set to thinking and thought we might design up an etched bed board and matching cab closure similar to the custom etched roofs we fit in tin top vans for our customers (for those that are unfamiliar with these I'll pop a pic of one below ) .
This lead us to wondering if any other Hilo owners might be interested in upgrading their beds to better quality ones in milano suede with an etched pattern if we go to the effort of doing this?
If you are let us know and we will post up some pics of what we come up with.

That’s not a hilo is it?

I have a hilo and yes - could be interesting as the standard finish isnt great (either the bed board or the surrounds).

For an even better option take a look at the pelmets Deaky made (which i copied).

A combo of pelmet + a nice replacement board would be v interesting as the combo would really professionalise the roof interior. Given total cost of a hilo isnt cheap might find a few interested people as % wise it'll be a lower proportion of total cost vs other pop tops.

The HiLo inner roof is very sturdy (50 stone limit), 'she may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts'

the bed is literally just a piece of WBP ply covered in carpet in the one in our workshop. I dare say it could take a damn sight more than 50 stone at a push but the cab closure board is warped and it still looks..... well like a peice of WBP ply covered in carpet .
I think aesthetically it could be improved a bit (lot).
