Hi all, just driven to Devon for a week's holiday with the family and dog! All was fine at the start of the 3 hour journey from Oxford but when I came off the M5, I noticed a wooshing noise. Seems like a boost pipe has come away! I don't have any tools and would like to remove engine tray and maybe bumper to inspect. Hopefully it's just a hose come loose. I can't inspect it by noise when stationary as the rev limiter won't make boost! I am in Beer, near Sidmouth. Anyone willing to help me out pretty pretty please?

Van spec: T6, 2016, 204ps, dsg, 38k on the clock.

No AA or RAC , Green Flag to back you up?

Without tools, ramp, and another car to go get parts you might be stuck.

Maybe get AA to fix or get you lifted to a local indy VW place or dealer for a fix?

Fyi we in South cost Devon ATM, but have no tools etc.

Thanks Loz, it's the 204 twin turbo, will get

RAC coming out shortly

Keep us posted.

We thinking split boost hose?

Or popped off boost hose?

I had similar on an old BMW 530D,. .... Tried pipe tape and a couple of jubilee clips as a temp fix...... But the charge pressure was so high it just split the pipe, ..

The fix on that occasion was a replacement boost hose thanks to eBay.

I’m not local unfortunately but we stay in Seaton a lot next to Beer. If needed RPM motors I’ve used in the past been very good

could be the charge air cooler on the top in that case, was there any oil residue on top of the engine, you can see the 2 hoses that go into and out of the cooler, black on front down to the throttle body and the red one at the back going onto the turbos.

did you take any photos?

Could not find anything visible anywhere! RAC even took off engine tray for me and I took a look underneath but nothing! Only thing I have not done is remove the bumper. As I am holiday, I gave up and give it to the garage!
