Go from 20’s to 19’s on a lowered van

Hi all,

Appreciate this can be a bit of a minefield but maybe my questions are simple.

Question / scenario 1….
My van is lowered on coil overs and runs on
265 / 40 / 20.

I don’t want my van to go lower but I want to drop my alloy size to 19 inch for improved comfort. Can I help to offset the drop in alloys size by getting alloys with 265 / 55 / 19?

Question / scenario 2……
Again, my van is lowered on coil overs and runs 265 /40 /20

I’ve been offered some nice 5 spokes that have 275 / 40 / 20 tyres on. Will the increased width give me rubbing issues?

Appreciate the questions are in contrast to one another but I’m toying with both ideas.

Really appreciate any advice.

275/40/20 on the front have the following issues.
Too wide for 8.5 rim.
Lack of feel in the steering.
Look horrible.
Chuck crap up sides of Van.
Not really suitable for lowering much without rubbing.

The above have been mentioned at various times my many others before. But not everyone will agree, I’m sure !

I changed mine to 245/45/20 and the difference is much sharper turn in and generally more confidence in the front end.
