Mine is still in with VW Commercial and has been diagnosed by "Germany" apparently! Requires a whole new bi-turbo unit. Looks like it will be covered by my All In Warranty/Service package. Awaiting news. Will update on here....
Recap: Coil Light flashing: Codes read by Carista: P22D300, P22D500
Update:
Got van back from VW yesterday. Complete new Bi-Turbo system fitted, this includes many pipes hoses etc, etc. Whilst removing what I believe was the exhaust manifold, a stud broke, thus requiring them to drop the engine, this means even more new parts I was told. Total bill retail £6,900!
I have a print out of the parts list and estimate that was sent to Extended Warranty for authorisation, this is obviously a trade price. £4,545.25p
Most of the parts on this list (3 pages) were discounted @ 44.7%
I note from the paper work and also had this confirmed... new oil and coolant were applied to this job.
Anyway, I'm very happy with the work and it was all covered under the All In Warranty they sold me a year ago. Very lucky for me!
Current Mileage 42,900
Hi, I have the same problem on mine, code P22D500.
I’ve got a brand-new turbo, but I’m also getting the glow plug light flashing and the DPF warning light on.
Do you think this could be caused by the solenoid valve?
it didn't! stripping down the turbo is the next option, possibly an actuator issue? Mechanic rang TPS for a price, they quoted for a whole turbo that includes actuators, I'm assumming this means they cannot be replaced, only as part of the complete unit?
Hi - I read this thread as it all sounds very similar ..... can i ask if you went the whole way with replacement turbo? I have changed far right one (N75) for a IK0906627"B" part that I borrowed to try, but understand this may not have the correct internal calibration(?). I no longer have the original so don't know if mine was originally a "E" variant like yours ... it's a 2016 CXEB engine.
I have a similar problem fault code P22D300 Inlet Valve Stuck/Closed and P22D500 Inlet valve Position sensor Circuit Range/Performance. I have changed one of the N75's because it had been making a pulsing noise intermittently. There appears to be good vacuum and the actuator rod appears to move freely. With this in mind, I am hoping that it is the Position Sensor although my local garage has said engine mount removal and subframe needs to be lowered to gain access. Does anyone know if you can replace the sensor on a CXEB bi turbo or you have to replace the whole actuator? footnote: I have managed to clear the inlet valve fault but the Position Sensor remains. Thanks in advance
