EC 155 and AGM batteries

I've got a 2016 T6 based Topaz. I've just replaced my old leisure battery with a 120Ah AGM but have seen on various threads and sites that the Sargent power unit won't deal with AGM batteries. The battery currently shows a healthy 12.8v which rises to 13.6v when hooked up through the EC155. Sargent Tech Dept., have told me it should be alright but on other threads people have said Sargent told them it wouldn't handle an AGM (which includes. of course, the starter battery). Is it a case of it depends who you speak to?

Any thoughts or direct experience? No point in talking to me as if I've got a degree in Electrical Engineering but all comments gratefully received!

Most people fit a stand-alone smart charger and disable the Sargent charger.

For a 120Ah AGM, look at a 15A for larger charger.
