Not sure I'd want to buy somebody else's problem. Is anyone able to recommend somewhere to purchase a used DPF as mine is cracked. OEM is 7E0131703F.
You could just get it mapped out for about £400.I considered that and had a cheaper aftermarket one sent but it was awful. The sensors didn’t even fit properly. I’ve now found an Approved part at £1200. I’m new to all this and don't fully understand it all. Genuine from VW is £2500![]()
Not just your MOT but also your insurance. ‘Vehicle must be maintained in a roadworthy condition’ stated on every insurance policy I’ve read.Yeah I’ve read that, but does it not affect your MOT?
It’s the actual filter that has split can these be welded. If it just cracked and not knackered maybe just have it welded up ?
Give me 1 example of someone having problems with insurance over the DPF ?Not just your MOT but also your insurance. ‘Vehicle must be maintained in a roadworthy condition’ stated on every insurance policy I’ve read.
I once worked with someone who had a claim refused over mudflaps and the ombudsman upheld it.Give me 1 example of someone having problems with insurance over the DPF ?
UK MOT Manual; section 8. You need an MOT in the UK to be roadworthy.Give me 1 example of someone having problems with insurance over the DPF ?
Or explain how mapping out the DPF affects the road worthyness of the vehicle?

The only way you know it’s ‘good’ is if it’s new. You could take a chance on a scrapyard if it’s just a case of getting a fully functional vehicle.Didn’t mean to start a DPF debatehow about if anyone can recommend a good aftermarket DPF?
From what I've read here on the subject I think the preferable solution is to remove it and get it cleaned. That way you know it'll fit back and will be ready to reset with VCDS or similar.Didn’t mean to start a DPF debatehow about if anyone can recommend a good aftermarket DPF?

I’m clutching myYou can't fix a crack by cleaning it!
(I know, @JOG is going to have a field day!)
