I just open the DPF App on my iPhone from the icon on the head unit when using CarPlay. It auto connects to the Carista module without touching my iPhone and even works fine using wireless CarPlay via the Ottocast tiny cube dongle.
I have the ios version of dpf monitor for vag. i just open the app on the radio screen even if the app is not running on my phone and seems to work really well. regens at 100% and 30g soot which i believe is set by engine spec at setup and can be manually adjusted, Keeps a history as well
I monitored live soot levels yesterday whilst on a motorway drive. Soot got up to around 30g before commencing a regen which took approximately 17 minutes to complete and then dropped down to around 8g. Handy to know that when the soot levels are approaching 30g I need to take the van for a 20 minute drive for a successful regen.
Folks
I've had the dreaded blocked DPF (sorry for those fairly recently 'blocked' on A303 in 8 mile jam during recovery). All fixed now but I would love to monitor the DPF cycle. This post mentions VAG DPF app and CARISTA dongle (EVO or OBD??) Is this all I need apart from my Google Pixel Android 7A phone (+ car mount)?
Is set up easy?
