DPF Regen Frequency / Issues / Force discussion.

If the low fuel light is on it won't burn. But the carbon keeps growing, so not filling up enough to turn off the light allows carbon to go above the next threshold, somewhere around 40g, (But I've not recorded it). might be as high as 50g. Then when you do a big fill up the regen light comes on and it set the burn process in motion.
It won't burn with low water temparature.
Not totally true. My van does a regen when the fuel level is well into the red. Others on here also have commented that their vans also do.
Also mine can start a regen within a minute or two of starting the engine, particularly if the regen didnt finish because the van was left to idle in neutral until the van interrupted the regen.

I was forced to stop the van, mid regen, a month ago when late for a meeting, 2 hours later back in the van and within a minute that regen started again with a cold engine and cold water, it surprised me!

That may be a T6.1 thing?

My T6 won't regen when the fuel low light is on.

From what I have noticed. On a T6.1 if you idle, or rev it to 2000 rpm whilst stationary, in the middle of a regen cycle, it will abort after 5-7 minutes. If you need the regen to finish, have to move the van a few meters forward and back after few minutes of being stationary. All the ECU look at is the sooth mass level (calculated) when it hits 30g, whether you are just finishing a 200mile trip or 5, it will kick in. If you stop, It will start the regen back as long as the engine is warm ( even after an hour of parking the van ) from where it left and finish it down to 8.5g. This is just my experience on my van.

Correct for a T6 as well.

Just an update, as I was driving I could see the regen happening on the Carisma app. It was at 12.5gm as I went round a roundabout, the fuel light came on and the fuel injection stopped immediately. So some do some dont.
