Current state of the campervan market

We had an interesting conversation with a local motorhome / campervan dealer today (we are looking at getting something bigger than our T6 camper).

He said the market is full of secondhand VW camper vans at the moment, but he expects that to change in the Spring.
Conversely, he can’t get hold of motorhomes for stock as they sell so quickly, but he expects that market to slow down in the Spring, then pick up in the Autumn.

There certainly seem to be plenty of VW campers on forecourts we have visited in the last few weeks.

Is that not typical sales talk, there's loads of what you've got but hardly any of what he wants to sell you.

Definitely to be taken with caution, but he did have 3 motorhomes that we were interested in (and loads of camper vans).

@Pete C. Call me a cynic but the fact that you might want to PX your VW for a motorhome probably heavily influenced his approach. It would have been the other way around had you been looking to downsize.

Maybe find someone with a motorhome and ask them to ‘test the water’ at the same place for you?
