Hi
I’ve got a 2022 T6 van converted from commercial to camper. I’m trying to sort out an issue with an error message about ACC Sensor and getting told different things by different people!
I get a message which says “ACC unavailable sensor impaired” intermittently. At other times the ACC display works fine. It’s been for a service at local VW van Centre who ran diagnostics and said the sensor is impaired because of the gloss paint on the front when it was converted. They quoted £1000 to replace it.
The people that did the conversion have said they haven’t done anything to the front so it’s not that causing it.
We took it to an independent retrofit place who also ran diagnostics and report said the sensor is intermittently impaired because of limited visibility (presumably the gloss coating) but also picked up an intermittent internal fault. Rather than charge us for a new sensor he said to go back to VW to replace it as it should be covered by warranty.
I have sent the details to VW and they have replied to say the 2 faults are linked. They have offered to re-run diagnostics but I am anticipating being told it’s linked to the gloss paint and therefore not covered by warranty.
I have no idea if or what I am being told is true by VW and the people that did the conversion. I’ve searched online for the error codes to try and find out what they mean but can’t find anything.
This is the report.
Can anyone help please?
