Caravelle H7 Headlight issues

Found a couple of threads on this but no real answer.

Caravelle - 2016.

I have THQ V1’s fitted and noticed the light bulb out warning popping straight up.

My Drivers side has the dipped beam out.
My Passengers side has the high beam out.

So far tried.

Removed THQ lights put back on original lights - still exactly the same issue.

Bulbs swapped back to forth. Feel if the original headlamps are doing exactly the same as the THQ lights, then not the light unit.

If i probe - the dipped beam has 0.87v with dipped beam off and drops to 0.77v. Working side is 12.4v when on.

I note the fuses - behind the bottle holder on Caravelle - doesn't actually have dedicated fuses to headlights - but another thread suggests looking at C3,C5,C12 & C41 - called onboard supply unit. Then have checked all the fuses here.

Changed out the light switch.

Yet to change - stalk & or ‘headlamp level switch’ next to headlight switch.

I even tried as someone else mention disconnecting the battery to clear the ‘Canbus’ for errors for 30minutes.

Any suggestions??

Still working on getting my lights back.

Issue being.

No dipped on O/S
No main on N/S

Replaced light switch / headlight level switch.

Put back on original headlight units - just in case some how the THQ’s V1’s where defective

I note i have a terminal 30 DTC. That google seems to say is linked to lighting issues?

Any thoughts.

Up date - been into the garage - where been told my BCM is at fault - so need to source a BCM?

Not been to VW as yet.

Seen one with same numbers on ebay - deutcheparts. But told the one i need is - 7E0937090 ZDD & the 1 they have is Z7A.

This last detail ZDD seems to be on a white sticker, which most 2nd hand & mine, as I've taken it out dosnt have.

Question - can i get away with something else or must have a ZDD?

Aware it all needs coding and will go back for that? Just need to source a replacement.

Thanks in advance for any help.

On their website (Deutsche Parts) it states this….

These are software coded, this module is set to Z7A. Please check with us before ordering that it will work in your model.

Maybe they can code it to the ZDD that you require…. I’d give them a call

Thx, I've been to them and it was them that said i needed the ZDD, as all the numbers on that 1 match up to mine bar the Z7A. I guess its then an expert in coding that can tell me if Z7A can be coded to ZDD?? Have reached out to dellmassive will do dav tec. Thanks

I’m sure one of these clever chaps can help you out…. might be worth reaching out to @Pauly too to see if he can help with that part???

ok. . .

lets see,

the BCM has multiple feeds for power.

and multiple 0v connections.

thats the second place id start to look.

..........

first is a BCM reset:

just seeing if you can get a T6 BCM pinout diagram . . . .

in the mean time we have. . . .

which shows associated fuses etc . . .

Buy any second hand 7E0937090 and transfer over your original coding and adaptations with VCDS or similar tool. Afterwards you will need to relearn your remote central locking functionality with the same tool.
If you have "DRIVER ALERT" in your ASSISTANT menu and your "new" replacement BCM/CAN Gateway is missing that option, it can be added by uploading appropriate data set.

I didn’t start this thread, but you fella’s are brilliant…. much appreciated massive knowledge of these vans!:mexican wave:

Thanks Dellmassive - put it back to stock, for when i took it in to be diagnosed with BCM.

Did the reset & left disconnected for much longer - 8hrs. Still not working.

Fuses checked in the cab and by battery by me & VW specialist who diagnosed it, for it to come back for BCM install.

Will use link, to be sure.

Don't have a vagcom or access to similar. It is booked in in 2 weeks time for the Specialist electrician to come in a fit BCM if it is that??
