That’s the smart alternator doing its stuff. If the new battery is above about 12.5v it won’t give much charge other than when decelerating or braking, it will then give 14.7-14.9v. The idea is to hold the battery at about 80% to give headroom to take this regenerative charge. The healthier the battery the less charge it needs so you will see much less alternator action.Well, battery changed - the old one sat at 11.5 volts so needed changing. When the engine is on it's putting 12.5-13v which seems low.
Carista came back asking for a report, which I've duly sent. Waiting to see what they say.
Take the van for a drive and monitor the voltage as you decelerate it should rise. It will also sit at 14.9ish during a regen.
What was the voltage of the new battery before you fitted it?
