Carista Codes Meaning?

Hello,

I've been lurking for a little while and digesting content. I've been trying to find out why my DAB radio didn't work (FM seems fine) - a basic check to see if the Ariel was plugged in and I caused an airbag light to come on. Bought a Carista, reset the airbag code and have the ones below. Everything else on the van seems to work fine, no warning lights etc.

CAN network gateway:
01044 - Control module coded incorrectly
Freeze frame
Priority: 2
Malfunction frequency counter: 2
Unlearning counter: 255
Odometer reading: 58641.3 miles

Infotainment system:
B111A13 - Antenna 2 for radio: Open circuit
Freeze frame
Priority: 6
Malfunction frequency counter: 1
Unlearning counter: 155
Odometer reading: 58641.9 miles

B110313 - Digital radio antenna 1: Open circuit
Freeze frame
Priority: 6
Malfunction frequency counter: 1
Unlearning counter: 155
Odometer reading: 58641.9 miles

U101400 - Control module coded incorrectly
Freeze frame
Priority: 4
Malfunction frequency counter: 1
Unlearning counter: 155
Odometer reading: 58641.9 miles

I understand Open circuit to be it's not all connected as it should, which I imagine as a first step I need to start seeing if everything is connected from the back of the radio to the antennas. Is this the right place to start?

Had a good internet search but everything seems very generic and I can't find anything in the forum, so not sure where to start with this one - "CAN network gateway: 01044 - Control module coded incorrectly" - any advice on where to start please?

Thanks in advance.

J

All faults have occurred at the same mileage, so what happened at that time? Possibly the faults were cleared and reappeared?

where to start with this one - "CAN network gateway: 01044 - Control module coded incorrectly"

In the gateway could indicate vehicle configuration mismatch - the listing of installed components in the gateway doesn't match what's actually seen by the gateway. E.g. removed trailer controller without updating the gateway.

Check "Detailed ECU info"-report (under Carista Service menu) for the controller list - anything obvious missing?

thanks for your help @mmi

That's the current mileage, so I presume that's me clearing and them reappearing. I've also just replaced the battery, as it wasn't holding charge very well.

The below is what came from "Detailed ECU info"-report. Looking at the below I'd guess the CAN network gateway error is referring to "U101400 Control module coded incorrectly" because they both contain "01044". The van has none factory speakers in the back, which have an additional/piggyback loom which has the original loom plugged into it, the piggyback loom is then plugged into the back of the head unit, I presume to feed/power the additional speakers - it may well be this that's causing the error. I disconnected this additional loom and directly connecting the original to see if the DAB radio came back on, but it didn't.

I probably just need to ignore that the DAB radio doesn't work and get on with my life, as everything else is great with the van :).

Not sure but I would expect them to be separate issues.
Then, other vans with the same and similar Infotainment units have slightly different coding than yours:
065700003C00000041111101008000001F0000C60000010001 others (tens of them)
065700003C00000051111101008000001F0000C60000010001 yours (seems to be unique)
Would be interesting to see what happens if you would recode yours.

Unfortunately Carista doesn't help much with this leaving the missing message out of the report.

I probably just need to ignore that the DAB radio doesn't work and get on with my life, as everything else is great with the van :).
Agreed
