Can Carista code in a new battery?

Well, battery changed - the old one sat at 11.5 volts so needed changing. When the engine is on it's putting 12.5-13v which seems low.

Carista came back asking for a report, which I've duly sent. Waiting to see what they say.
That’s the smart alternator doing its stuff. If the new battery is above about 12.5v it won’t give much charge other than when decelerating or braking, it will then give 14.7-14.9v. The idea is to hold the battery at about 80% to give headroom to take this regenerative charge. The healthier the battery the less charge it needs so you will see much less alternator action.

Take the van for a drive and monitor the voltage as you decelerate it should rise. It will also sit at 14.9ish during a regen.

What was the voltage of the new battery before you fitted it?

Hi, thanks. It was about 12.5v.
Cool. You’ll see the alternator charge voltage rise when the voltage drops (e.g. after a long park up), on decel, during a regen or with lots of loads on (heater fan, lights etc). All sounds like it’s working to me.
