I am planning to remove my original VW Headunit 1K8035150E

and swap for my Pioneer AVH-8700BT.
I wish to keep the steering wheel controls and also OPS display together with rear view camera.
I checked with Pioneer and they told me ...

'If you take a look at this link you can see the adaptors you will require
Car Installation Parts for Volkswagen T6 2017
Depending on the year of your vehicle you will need the UAR function + capacitor '

Looking at the link it mentions a CD-SVW-UAR.005.AE.
Looking around the web I can find a few similar including this Pioneer Head Unit Display Interface│volkswagen│cd SVW UAR 004 for sale online | eBay
Contacting the seller they seem to think it will work and is half the price than similar cables.

I understand that I'll need a fascia adapter and maybe the USB retention kit but the Can-Bus adapter is more critical.

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

Hiya

The 004 will work, but the Pioneers are very sensitive to voltage and many are affected by the stop/start resulting in them Rebooting

The capacitor keeps the voltage steady to eliminate this issue

Thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know the difference between the 004 and 005?
Been looking at this in more detail since my post and spoken to Connects2 and they gave me these details

Adapters

ctsvw002.2
older quad lock

ctsvw015.2
new quad lock

INFODAPTER

ctuvw01
older quad lock

ctuvw03
new quad lock

Although some of the on screen info from the can-bus hasn’t been fully tested.

I guess I’ll need to remove the head unit and check which I have.

Thanks again

The CD SVW UAR003 is for a T5.1 with the older quadlock

CD SVW UAR004 for the newer mib Vw platform, ie T6 as the power pins are in a different place

The 005 version is the new one which hasn’t been out long. Due to the stop/start issues Pioneer we’re having

The infoadapter is a aftermarket device which displays the info via the reverse camera port, we don’t use these as prefer the others above as they connect directly to the headunits dedicated plug

Very useful info once again
So I guess it would be wise to use the 005.
Will update the thread once it’s sorted. May help others in a similar position.

Thanks again @Absolut5

Hi

I’m also installing a Pioneer head unit.
I can’t find that 005 cable set anywhere online though?

Cheers

What Pioneer unit are you installing ?

The 005 cable is new and not quite available yet, but we will have them soon

Im going to fit a Pioneer camera as well.

Thanks

Steven

The 005 cable from Pioneer isn’t compatible with the AVH z5100dab you will need the connects 2 infoadapter
