Bus Stop Campers Sheffield

@Sidbattle I'd love to see the pictures too, might help me decide if I'm gonna carry on letting them keep treat me like a mug or not...

Yes. They got our initial colour choices wrong at the meeting. They’re also appalling at communication. Emails have gone unanswered for weeks. We don’t know if this is because of a poor administrator or just indicative of the business itself. We’re not demanding or awkward customers. The conversion is also 2 months late, despite them having it for 6 months now. We had no idea it would be this bad after reading reviews and putting our trust in them. Be warned.
@Lifeforms Have you had any recent updates on your van in regards to completion?

No updates whatsoever. No communication.

In my last email I even said “ we appreciate your staffing problems, but transparent communication really is key. It would be nice to receive little updated every fortnight by email.”

Nothing. That was 4/5 weeks ago now. I would never trust these clowns again. I don’t like/ trust the lack of professionalism of the female admin who I shall not name.
I will inbox you...

Have now been given a completion date of about a fortnights time. Will let you all know what happens…
That's great news, we have also had improvements with the situation, Lisa has been communicating well with me, she sent us pictures of our van on Tuesday which has been started and invited us up yesterday to view our van in person, we called up and saw the work in person and she has said we are welcome to call up and see the van throughout the conversion process and has reassured that she will send updated photos every couple of weeks. She also explained that we will get a completion date once the kitchen units are going in as once that stage is completed it's easier to project a completion date, which is understandable. I'm feeling a lot more confident and happy with the situation now - For other customers I think the best way to communicate with the Bus Stop team is by just giving them a call and having a chat rather than emailing, I had a good chat with Lisa and she's been really understanding and accommodating.

Hi all, apologies for the delay in posting photos, been away to Lyme Regis and van was full of equipment etc, not the best of photos from a dull Sheffield, really pleased with the conversion, just awaiting double swivel mechanism as that makes a world of difference to the inside space.

Hi Guys,
Has anyone had contact this week from Busstop? I have a friend who currently has a van with them that is also VERY delayed. They visited them on site yesterday (Monday 4th) and no one was in at all. Same again today. They are getting very concerned with the situation as they have been told that their van was ready at the end of last week but can’t get in contact with anyone at all at the moment..
Any info to put them at ease would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello, we last had contact with them last Thursday, my partner spoke to Gavin directly and I also spoke to Lisa who did say that they were really busy getting two vans completed to be collected last Friday, I'm assuming one was your friends. Was everything totally locked up or could they have possibly been closed up for lunch? When my partner spoke to Gavin he really restored her faith, she said he was really down to earth, really friendly and came across very passionate about the business and the vans, admittedly they have a lot on and have had their recent challenges, but she does feel they will come through with all the conversions. Let us know if you manage to make contact with them?

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your information. We were told by somone working locally to Busstop that they saw people moving some 'stuff' out of their shop yesterday afternoon. Not sure exactly what they were moving but there has been movement on site.
My friends will be visiting in the next few days to try and catch them to talk to them face to face to try and get the full story. I will update here with further news.
Thanks.

We have tried calling the main number and it's turned off, also sent a message to the work mobile and it was read, but they have since changed the 'last seen' settings on WhatsApp and also turned the mobile off too. I messaged asking if they was still operating as a business and they read it and didn't reply, so all I can assume is that they aren't, surely if they was then they'd message back and reassure. If they are moving stuff out of the workshop all I can assume is that they are doing a 'moonlight flit' and I have absolutely no idea how we will all get our vans back? They are aware of this thread and they do read it. My partner feels very naive for believing what Gavin said to her on the phone last Thursday. We have absolutely no idea what to do, I am not sure if to contact the police or not for help with getting our van back.

I'm not sure the police can help as there is no evidence of theft/twoc. If the van is stuck on the premises you may be in a difficult position if they've ceased trading, especially if they have started work on your van. I'd seek legal advice through your insurer.

We have actually requested our van back twice over the last few weeks and both times have been 'manipulated' into allowing them to keep it in the workshop. I've spoken to the police and they are looking into the situation, admittedly it is a grey area, however they have confirmed if you request a vehicle back and you are denied that it falls into the category of theft. They have done bare minimum work on our van, the work they have done is worth a fraction of the deposit money of ours that they have.

My considered adive would be to go down and see if the premises are open. If so, walk in to legally enquire about your vehicle. If you can grab the keys, do so. Get in the vehicle, lock the doors. Tell them you are taking back possesion and leave in the van. If they block you in, ring 999.

Good advice from @Sackmycook right there. If you can walk into the premises while they are open, take your spare keys, jump in and leave. If they stop you ring the cops. Take proof that you own the van.
I’d be very very surprised if the Police view it as anything other than a civil dispute.

Or go down with the second set of keys so that you can access your van. Bring a stoplok and a pedal-lock to inhibit the van being moved.

I have just had confirmation that Bus Stop Campers have gone bankrupt and they have known for a while. They are hundreds of thousands of pounds in debt. All customers with vans should be called by the receivers to collect their vans, but this could be weeks or months, no one knows.

Given the above info i think there are going to be a number of people who currently have vehicles with them that are not going to be in a happy place so i will clean this thread up and delete some of the pointless comments and leave it to people that are first hand involved with this company.

You can use the forum to contact each other here in public or via PM in private if required and i hope everyone gets the outcome they are hoping for and gets their vans back sooner rather than later !

Thank you. I did not mean to come across as rude earlier, it is out of character for me, it has just been such a stressful and anxious situation and our worst fear has now been confirmed. It's our life savings and lifelong dream and it feels it's just been shattered.
