16” Alloys With All Terrain Tyres?

Hi. @Derty Barst Could you post a full close up side on pic of your black Clayton wheels please?

They look really good and I'd like to Photoshop it on to my van to see how it goes with my blue and black scheme. I'm on factory Clayton but want to go black wheel. Powder coating what I've already got may be the most wallet friendly solution!

Hi just found this thread so adding my quick Q here also - I’ve got my eye on some Amarok Aspen 16” wheels with 245 70 16 tyres and an ET62 offset for my t32 (tyres come t111 xxl load rated). Anyone had any experience fitting these. I’ve done a compare (below). My T32 has the smaller front brakes (no idea why) and came with 16” steels originally. Ideally I want a straight swap with no spacers. It’s on devonports with standard springs at the moment. Thanks

Hi,
I am looking for new AT tires and I am not sure about size. There is not many options for 215/60R16, so my questions is for all of you who put 225/75/16 or 235/70/16 size tires. What is your rim size? Can they fit on factory steel wheels 16X6.5J?

Thanks

I'm a happy man, got the BFG's just in time for summer camp. Be rude not to drop a photo:mexican wave: 225/75/16 satin black clayton's View attachment 166064
Hi, is this van lowered at all? If not do you know what size the arch gap is? I’m planning on doing the same but want to lower it as well by 40-50mm but not sure if I’ll get away with it

Cheers!

Hi, sorry very late reply, haven't been on forum for ages. Hasn't been lowered , on the original suspension at moment . not sure how low you could get away with, without rubbing.

Cheers Julian

Ok so could someone please help, what’s the biggest size I can run (stock t30) without rubbing I’m thinking height mainly when bottoming out and suspension movement when turning. I have the stock 16 but can use a website to calculate the diameter of 17 or 18s too :) Is 215 75r16 too big?

I have 235/65/17 on my T32 which is lowered 30mm. 215/75/16 is literally only 9mm difference in diameter, so 4.5mm height gain and 4.5mm shorter arch gap. They will technically fit without rubbing, if your van is standard height or up to 30mm drop, based on my experience, but I am guessing they will also be fine with a bigger drop too.

I cannot comment on the tyre being suitable though, as that’s a rather tall sidewall, but my 235/65/17’s run great and are super comfy. You will gain comfort on the further increase sidewall, but might find the handling is a little less crisp as that sidewall flexes more.

Has anyone fitted Maxxis Wormdrive tyres - 235/70R16 104/101Q MAXXIS AT-980 ALL TERRAIN TYRE? These are £465 delivered for x4.

Maxxis wormdrive is popular with T2 and T25 owners for AT tyres and seem pretty reasonable price wise.

Tyre tread looks similar to BFG's, but not the price tag lol.
