I am after fairly simple electrical set up as I am planning on spending 90% on sites with hook up and never more than couple nights away. I have done hours of research but struggling to get my head around the wiring and equipment needed.

I am also wondering if I will need Victron BMV-712 Smart shunt or going with Fogstar smart bluetooth battery will give me same information?

Looking good ....

The Fogstar has a good app, so you may not need a bmv712....!unless you want to go full team Blue.

Not sure you need the isolation switch on the inverter as it comes with a remote on/off switch.

15A LB charger is good..... But you will need some way of keeping the. Starter battery topped up

Not sure you need an isolation switch on your loads..... You can switch the battery off remotely.

To keep the starter battery topped up would you recommend AMT12-2 or something else?

Is there any difference between these victron chargers or just size and casing?

Thank you

Yes for the AMT12-2

They work great...

The ip22 charger is for internal use and has a fan.

The IP65 version is same, but waterproof so can be mounted anywhere. Ie under bonnet and is also fanless.

I went for the IP65 version as it is mounted near where my water pipes to the sink run, in case there was a slow leak that I didn’t notice. They are priced similarly, both fitted where I wanted, so that was the one factor that made my choice.

Amazing never spotted the difference in IP ratings, spent couple days comparing the two. Will buy the IP65 version as seems more compact and around same price

Just ordered AMT12-2 will see how it works on standard settings with fogstar and start stop battery.

Thanks

Trying to workout why some wiring diagrams connect positive wires from lights, usb etc onto rocker switch and all negative wires go straight to fuse box. Others seem to run extra negative wire to rocker switch and then back to fuse box?

Sorry if it’s silly question but would love to know the correct way or difference.

The negative to the rocker is for the LED in the switch to show it is on. They are just showing a common negative for all lights & rocker
That makes sense so with negatives I can go straight back to fusebox or even any bolt on van near the lights if I wanted?

On your first post with the overall diagram on the feed to the inverter you've got a 150A fuse feeding a 100A isolator.
I'd down rate that fuse, if anything went wrong the isolator would overload before the fuse blows.

Sorry I’ve got another most likely silly question. Do I connect all my positive straight into battery terminal as shown on my diagram, use positive bus bar or should I be use distribution MEGA/MID Fuse Box?
