Who needs an Alpine Halo.. DIY for under £200

Decided i needed a new stereo for my t6 and really liked the look of the alpine halo but didn't like the price. After research I came across the pioneer sph-20dab, cheap at £120 all i needed was a cheap tablet at £60 and i have a system that meets my needs.. plus i can unclip the tab and take to the back.. its sounds brilliant and has all the features of a more expensive unit.. really pleased

This looks really good. Can you please explain:
How do you remove the old unit?
Is it a straight swap? Any coding required?
How do you blank out the half of the double din slot?
What tablet did you use?

Thanks

The facia just unclips from the dash. No coding required. I bought a single din surround from amazon and a android tablet also from amazon. It cost less than £200 for the lot

This is really cool - thanks. Does it come with all the right connectors etc?

Also how did you mount the tablet? It looks like it comes with a bracket big enough for a smart phone only.

also what did you use as a surround to fill the gap around the edge of the double din space?

Thank you. It would be good to see the back of your tablet and what you mean by a grab handle...

sorry for all the questions!
