Which Jump Starter?

I bought a Top Don JS3000 after seeing a review on you tube. The transporter had not been used for two weeks and on the first cold morning the battery was completely dead. No central locking or dash lights. It was a good opportunity to test the booster. No issues at all, it started straight away, I could not get a battery for 2 days so I used the booster another 4 times and it is still showing 100%.
It may not be a Noco but I am happy with it so far.

It comes in a nice carry case too.

Topdon seems to be climbing the ranks lately.

Not seen that jump pack.

But I have a couple of there battery testers.

And have my eye on there new 120A charger, maintainer.

Looks like a Chinese cloan of the NOCO.

might be on as a power bank, but not sure it will start a T6 in the dead of winter.

Buy cheap, buy twice.

He has a very popular YouTube channel I've followed him for years.

He gets a product and stress tests it, almost to destruction.

You get some very good real life data.

But agreed it can be a tought watch.

I normally skip to the conclusion, then drop back to see the individual items of interest.

But specifically for the Jump Packs that this thread is about.....he shows the good and the bad. (USA based shipping).



But to answer Jon's question about buying one that had good reviews....

I bought the best one supposidly listed on Amazon earlier in this thread couple of years ago .... It was total pants. It Wouldn't start a dead T6, or run a tyre pump on the 12v side..... Just rubbish.

So I sold it on eBay and become very aware of crappy fake reviews that are just after clicks.

Nowadays I want to see real-world testing and tear downs.

Just a note for others researching - the consensus is a noco GB70 or a GB75 or higher (if your not from Yorkshire)

I've added both to my Amazon wishlist and the wife will likely be checking for black friday deals and we'll see how much she loves me (or it'll be socks again)
 
Finally got to use my Vtolman as a jump starter (on the neighbours car). Have been using it weekly for the built in tyre pump - which in itself is impressive as it brings all four of the van tyres up from their minimum to maximum pressure in no time and without denting the charge much.

As a jump starter it was unbelievably easy. Clamps on, try to start the car… instant start.

I see Vtolman appear to be moving into the omnipresent power pack and solar panel realm but gooloo (who own Vtolman) have a UK website which often has very good deals plus they get good reviews (project farm on YouTube with his various tests found them to be very good).

Mine allegedly will start a 10l diesel engine… need to find a broken down truck/digger/ferry to test it on, lol.

An old associate of mine has a farming channel on Youtube, in a recent video he'd got a tractor with a 14.7 litre V8 diesel engine, flat battery, it couldn't even turn over 1 full revolution on its starter batteries. It was a cold morning so an engine that size takes some serious juice to get going.
Out came a NOCO 75, yep, it started it!
That's quite a test on a cold morning!
 
NOCO now do A 24v monster jump pack.

For heavy plant and commercial..... It's does 12v too.

Is love one, but it's big bucks.

I've started self help.

I've reduced my jump pack connection down to two units.

The NOCO GBX-75 for the Bus.

And NOCO GBX150 in the van.....

Basically I never leave home without one.
