Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

at what site and was it any good

Tintagel this weekend - lovely weather (better than at home) and got us out - stayed in the King Arthur Carpark - £12 for 24 hours - toilets 50p - extra cost for showers and waste disposal - lots of old campers (not VW) and people sleeping in cars / vans).

Carpark & town busy - but ok for a cheap stopover.

But you are squashed in!

Did the war museum on the way in good value at £11 for adult & child.

This price looks to be all year around - top choice for location - 30 seconds to town - 5 minutes to the Tintagel walk to the castle - hilly and a lot of steps to exit (but can say want to go back across the bridge - we did not).
As you head up the hill on the same road as the carpark about 30 seconds there is another carpark on the left (not sure of price) - not much more than a field but looked more spacious - no facilities but nothing stopping you using the ones in the main carpark - slightly up the hill too on the right are other toilets (they are all charged for in the town) and are 20p.
Town expensive for food as very touristy.

But great time and good if want to visit Tintagel - my son loved the King Arthur Great Hall in the town - again around £11 for us both.

Not been tintagel for a good few years
Sounds cheap enough but the carpark thing doesn't sound for me .
There is a campsite there though if I remember right .

Hi JumpShip,

Don’t disagree campsite would have been nicer tbh - but cheap as chips - unlike the chips in town 😂 but ok for a stop over.

There was a campsite called "Headland Caravan and Camping" but it closed a year or two ago when it was taken over, and as far as I know it's permenantly closed now, although it still shows up on Google.

Stayed overnight at Riverside Campsite in Malham, £15, rather than the one I should have stayed at in Cononley. Fancy having 2 sites with the same name so close to each other!
Anyway, a pleasant 16 miles drive up hill and down dale to drop the van off at DriveLodge Motorhomes to have the poptop canvas replaced under (5 year) warranty (4 and a half years into said warranty).
Incredible service from a much 'under the radar' poptop and conversion company.
The main man James has just dropped me off into Skipton to enjoy the glorious sunshine and Skiptons wonders.
He will collect me around 3pm.
Incredible service!
