Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

I don’t do much trail centre stuff but ride a lot of natural stuff in the dark peak. Just been up in Tarland and Ballater in Scotland and happy to ride black stuff up there.
No probs with anything at Degla etc.
Had Morzine booked and covid got it cancelled and never rebooked it.

Just go give it ago then. What’s the worst that can happen .

Reading between the lines the worst that could happen is he peaks on the black stuff after catching his Ballats riding Dirk Digler and wakes up in hospital on Morzine... sounds like Broke back Mountain all over again. 🤕

Bit of a North/South divide with the weather by the looks of it plus we're due the wet stuff at some point today but we're at Hurley Riverside Park, twixt Marlow and Henley on Thames, innit?

May half term in the French Riviera 🇫🇷 🇲🇨
Feat. Ramatuelle, St Tropez, St Maxime, St Raphael, coastal train along the Riviera through Cannes and Nice to spend a day in Monte Carlo, Monaco experiencing the pre F1 buzz, many walks through many vineyards to Pampelonne beach with absolutely superb food and drink.

Doing what we love the most, finding a blend between kicking back and exploring what a region has to offer.

Going to struggle to follow that but we wandered along the Thames footpath last night about an half mile towards Henley and it's pretty, all Tudor and Arts and Craft style but opposite was this place...

Looked it up and apparently it's Medmenham Abbey, yup the 17th century Hell Fire Club, turns out it wasn't invented by the Stranger Things TV series after all but a bunch of pervs from High Wycombe.

I wondered how you got so many people in a camper van. 😂 great photos 👍

That's some setup. Can't beat a good camping trailer!

@Stay Frosty. When I was working, I often had to visit RAF High Wycombe and passed the cave on the drive there where I believe all the pervy stuff actually took place - never investigated any further though!

We're at (Elizabeth ) Hurley Riverside Park where it's just started flipping raining with a vengeance.
Anyway, sadly we're on the opposite side of the river to the Abbey, the nearest footbridge is a victim of old age and Brian the Ferry, the ferryman (honest) isn't running again until Wednesday so short of walking all the way up to Marlow (again, it was bloddy miles) and back down the other side I can neither confirm or deny the cave is where "it" was "at"🤔:geek:
I'll be honest having been to Marlow today, on foot, I can honestly say there's a shed load of money alongside the Thames here and that the river while not crystal clear isn't far off with three flavours of geese and fish, well chub anyway.
I can confirm there's a Wetherspoons in Marlow and that the Regatta will be on the 13/14th June and should be spot on despite a near total lack of parking.

From Collioure, we decided to bin the idea of Portugal and instead head for Orio in Spain and did the drive over two days. Yesterday we overnighted at Camping Midi Pyrenees which was a quiet cracking site at only 20¢ per night with ACSI. The drive to it was through a small industrial estate which was a bit of a concern but we soon forgot about that when we saw the area immediately surrounding the site and the view from the pool (see below). This morning it was a shortish (3 hour) run to Orio Kanpina near Orio town (which I know a few on here are familiar with but pictures to follow). We've been here before, albeit only briefly and already know that it's a decent if very busy site with a few close eateries but we plan to do the 20 minute or so walk into town tonight to hit the pintxos bars (pintxos being the basque version of tapas!). The plan for tomorrow is a train to San Sebastian for a mooch around.
