Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

I took the van for an MOT this morning. Tester put it on their ramp and the hydraulic pipe on the ramp burst. No MOT possible, so I am left with a van with no MOT and every other local test centre is booked. My lesson is, I should always go to an MOT centre with at least a day remaining on the MOT. The rules are, without one you can drive there as long as you have a booked appointment or you can drive away having failed a test. You can't drive away if the test is not performed.

The MOT test can actually be carried out up to 30 days before the current one runs out and the new one should be dated in accordance with the original expiry date.

...can't think of an excuse, so I will admit to not being that organised!

Stayed in porthcawl last night, met somebody called Evert

Came home a day earlier than planned, we decided last night to drop the awning and roof and squish 3 of us into the back and across front seats!

Awake most of the night to the sound of rain and and the van being smashed by the wind!

Threw everything in the back, got breakfast and headed home

All part of the fun :)

Found a quiet spot in Scotland! Overnighter near Loch Lyon to utilise a wee high pressure that’s snuck in and get up some hills. Views for miles across Rannoch Moor to Buachaille Etive Mor & Beinn a Chrùlaiste sitting either side of the entrance to Glencoe.

A wise decision I'd say. You're a braver man than me I'd have packed the night before. Not so much to stop damage to your gear/van but flying debris from other campers. Glad you survived it

This weekend we have been in Dorset near Beaminster. I think I’ve had my experience with wild eco camping!

A quiet site, though I wonder how many may have not bothered turning up due to the crap weather.

The toilet block. I’d rather crap in a bog and flush it away than leave it for someone else to look at and experience. Next to the composting bogs are the showers. Again, I think I’d rather have indoor power showers!

Jesus! We like a basic site but that's proper "I'm a celebrity" facilities
