Presuming that you're into castles and beaches - I hope so, because there's lots of both up there
- I recommend a visit to Dunstanburgh Castle. Park in Craster (a historic little fishing village about a 30-minute drive from Beadnell Bay) in Quarry Carpark [W3W ///toasted.supporter.screening]. From there, there's a lovely, gentle walk along the coast on to the Castle.Close by is Embleton Bay (a beautiful, deserted bay with a sandy beach, ideal for paddling). You can get a good view of the bay from the castle and, if you fancy dropping in, you can either walk from the castle or drive and park on the roadside on Sea Lane [W3W ///plankton.resides.retail].
Other recommendations would be:
Seahouses
Bamburgh / Bamburgh Castle / Bamburgh Beach
The Alnwick Garden at Alnwick Castle (don't make a dick of yourself like I did - Alnwick is pronounced An-ick)
Wooler (gateway to the Cheviots)
And, of course, Holy Island (aka Lindisfarne)

Bamburgh beach is really good, but if you want something quieter, Goswick Beach is our favourite....
Suggesting Bamburgh beach isn't quiet is somewhat misleading. Granted there are beaches in Northumberland that are completely deserted, but Bamburgh beach is vast - over 3 miles long and 100s of yards wide - and even on it's very busiest days, there's at least a football pitch-sized area per person.
Will have to give Goswick beach a go though - never been.
Not if the tide is in, then you have a pretty narrow strip to contend with....plus the parking can be challenging

I'd recommend buying the book "Road Trip Northumberland, The North East & North Pennines" by Robbie Roams. I hear what you're saying, but for most people a busy beach is one where you'd struggle to find a spot big enough to comfortably sit without encroaching on others' space - in my experience that's never been even remotely the case at Bamburgh.

We have noticed an increase in people staying in our accommodation from Europe this season. Swiss, Germans and Dutch, some in campers and Motorhomes heading up to Scotland or travelling back to get the Amsterdam ferry from Newcastle. Talking to them, seems the cooler weather is a definite draw these days.....
