What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Does it open as in the photo with that "black rubber" bit jammed in the left hand side?

Edit: I bought a fridge that the door doesn't extend beyond the side for this reason.
No it doesn't it's one of those kneeling pads. I just put it there because I was working in the van

Next bit of the grill strip swap out done…have swapped the other chrome one for blue. Annoyingly, it seems like the supplier has forgotten to send the larger price for the middle of the bottom grill so I’ll have to do that when it arrives.

Pretty pleased with the blue though…wondered if it would be too light but I like it!

Nice! What colour will it be?
Given that the rear is masked-off, I'm gonna guess at Indium Grey the same colour as now (not sure it it's currently Indium Grey or Pure Gey :rolleyes:).

It's going the original colour just all the same shade as the frontend is off colour. If i was changing the colour it would either be 3 stage pink or acid green to be subtle 😎, but that will be for the next project in a couple of months time.

So new thermal poptop arrived so a quick test fit, seems I got most my measurements right. Not perfect but I suspect some tweaks will have it sitting better.

Little disappointed it was not the same thermal material as the external screen cover but also makes sense as it would add a fair bit of weight making even harder to fit. Was surprised I managed ok on my own in about 7 minutes and without needing additional steps etc to reach.

Hi.

What make did you go for the poptop wrap. Been looking at a few. Thanks

I decided today was the day I was going to service my Haldex Unit.
I'd bought a kit from Haldex Repairs Auto Fault finder which included everything I needed;

So it was time to watch a Youtube video, as I always do, because it can save me from doing things the hard way;

So into the shed I reversed up some shallow ramps to give myself a bit of room. A little wren was flitting about, I've noticed that little wren in the shed a lot recently! (more on that later!)

I found it very straight forward really, except fiddling about to unplug the electrical connector, which was a PITA.
Surprisingly, as I've done 50K since it was last done by a garage (pre retirement, I had the excuse of not having time then!) the fluid appeared clean and the filter was clean and free from visible contamination. Anyway, I changed the O rings on the pump, refilled with the new fluid provided, until I couldn't get any more in, then went for an enthusiastic drive on gravel, but it was immediately clear that the 4Motion was working.
Back in the shed I managed to get another 40ml of fluid into it, so it took a total of 850ml.
Job done.

While I was tidying up Mrs D had come in and she watched the wren. Only then did we realise that it was using an old nest box (centre of the image below) that Mrs D had put on a shelf above my work bench a year ago for some repair work! It seems to just come and go every five minutes without a care in the world!

Picked up a load of fresh tar from a newly repaired stretch of single lane somewhere near Calgary Bay, I think :mad: I guess the clue was it was still steaming, but I had nowhere to go to avoid it anyway. Got no product with me to deal with it - hoping it doesn't stick permanently.

Autoglym intensive tar remover will lose that, hopefully not your decals...
