What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Ceramic coating the wheels today. Absolutely hate cleaning wheels so I’m hoping the pain of doing this now reduces the ballache of cleaning them in the future. Using carbon collective wheel kit.

Also bought a Halfords advanced jack and axle stands - £126 using instant gift card discount through work on top of sale price. Bargain.

Finally got around to fitting a rear door rack from
Wheeliams, buying a matching 245/65R17 wheel to the Rogue Alloy 17inch Raptors already fitted to the Van. The rack was straightforward to fit. Ordered the rim on Wednesday afternoon and it was with me by 11am Thursday.

Fitted the IKEA Hoppvals blinds. So simple to fit and seem pretty good quality.
Personally, not seeing the need for Pod surrounds or side guides using trunking. These seem reasonably snug with the bottom being secured with velcro tabs.
I may manufacture a top valence to hide the gubbins but not too fussed at the moment....

Glad to kiss those curtains goodbye.....

VERY interesting! Looks good. Is that the same as they use on the pod things? How are the fixed in? Might need a new thread for this.

Yeah, lots of YouTube stuff on home made pics using the Hoppvals blind. There is a guy with a transit who does a good talk though of doing it with 3mm ply pods.
Fixed in with two x snap brackets screwed into the metal work with short self-tappers.
Blinds were £115 for 2 of 100cm and one of 80cm. The one for the sliding door is fixed above the sliding door aperture rather than the door, like Vanshades and Swellshades....

Two new tyres. Went for Kuhmo Ecsta Sport again. Had new fronts about 6 weeks ago and was a bit surprised to see the tyre report today saying that new backs had 8mm tread and front 7mm. I reckon I’ve only about 800 miles and used 1mm already🤷‍♂️

Considering it's about £12 for the black vinyl, it's worth giving it a try it. You can always take it off again.

You can buy pre cut vinyl to "de-chrome" the strips on eBay here

But I decided to get this roll for a similar price and cut it myself. I also tried to wrap the chrome badge, but that was really fiddly and didn't work out very well so I just bought one.

I was thinking of the trapezoidal black side bars myself, but I'm gonna wait till I lower it and see how it looks before I make that decision.
Cheers for those.. thanks bud.

Service and mot, typical as I drove the 500metres to the local garage, ABS light appears, so diagnose and replace, 630 of your English pounds lighter today 🤷‍♂️
Just to clarify, full service and mot was £360, diagnose abs sensor, supply and fit was the rest, can’t complain though, done over 12000 miles since I got her.
