What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Drove it! Simply hadn't needed to go anywhere since before Christmas, but today I wanted to take some replacement interior trim for the Volvo to be hydrodipped to the correct finish.

Its only an 18 mile round trip and I'd have normally cycled that, but the items are too big and easily damaged to go in a rucksack, so it was a good excuse to get some heat through the van. Went to round in a wide loop to turn it into a 40 mile round trip, took my time and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fitted a new bottom runner for the sliding door and moved the door a too much and, annoyingly, it dropped onto the drive... fortunately missing my foot!
Nice bend on the bottom corner which will have to wait for warmer weather for a repair.
It's my work van and it needs a bit of cosmetic work after 190k! so I've just sealed it with bit of black spray for the moment.
Update!
Didn't notice at the time but the rear/centre slider did this!🥴

Another job crossed off the list today, wanted to be able to reroute the autoterm heater output. Dog tends to sit very close to the existing floor exit as does the fridge and would be useful to be able to direct onto windscreen or into poptop.

Quick measure and 15 minutes in fusion and I have a friction fit adapter to go over existing vent and attache some more 60mm hose to.

Hi Andrew, Give me a rundown on how you fixed these to the roof and a pic of how you finished off that front end near the cab.
Many Thanks
I've bodged it somewhat using some screws straight into the ceiling cross members, they're zinc plated but not really seen anyway. The front i've not really finished yet as i'd like to remove the cabin headliner, cover with anthracite carpet and move the Autoterm comfort controller to the central cubby hole. I'm hoping once the cabin headliner is out i may be able to fab up some larger cubby holes either side.

Picked up the van from the convertors who fitted my windows for me.

1 x sliding door fixed / 2 x rear quarter fakes plus 1 x joint strip / 2 x extra high barn doors / 1 x offside safari opener

All from Camper Glass. Shout out to Adam from Campervans En Le Frith in the High Peak for the fitting.

Fitted a wheel arch cover to rear left as my EQ for work has started to shred the actual arch

Put some deadening and 5mm foam underneath to help with noise but made it a bit of a pig to fit. Few snaps here and there and was flexible enough to bodge. Will do the job.

When it’s knackered might remove and just carpet

After cleaning and applying hammerite, used 2cm metal decorative adhesive strip to protect the metalwork from the nylon work - it runs so much smoother!!!

Good call with the SS. Think I'm gonna have a go.
Any tips for getting it under the wheel when the door is open?

Initially I cut a smaller strip and put it under the area where the wheel is when the door is fully open, but that created a seam which you feel when the wheel runs over it. So I had to take the roller out, I nearly dropped the door though.. 🙈

I did one fully horizontal strip but the track is raised, and this is not necessary as it curves around. I then cut a second piece with a diagonal cut to join with the larger straight track
