What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Nearly bought one of those at Bristol Volksfest.. umming & aarrghing.. 2 hours later went back to get it & it sold..
typical.. looking at 2 on the bay of E’s.
That’s my sort of luck! Really easy to make. Couple of dinghy hooks (eBay), paracord (or webbing) and a bit of ply. I used some cam cleats as well so it can be adjusted to level the table.

Got an ABS/ECU error on the dash and hooked up the VCDS to discover in real time that the rear right sensor had packed up (not speed reading)

Ordered the part from GSF Parts for £48. When it arrived discovered the sensor was for the rear left. Spotted an £8 right sensor on Amazon, decided i had nothing to lose, fitted it and all now works.

The GSF Part is going back for a refund. £40 in the bag for new gadgets amd widgets

😁 the other half said ‘you should’ve got it’..
good job on yours.. they do look very handy to have..

Tried out my new to me Fiamma awning sides along with a full length screen I’ve got.
It’s not pegged down so a bit saggy.
I wanted to make sure I had all the bits and knew what I was doing before I leave for 2 weeks in the van tomorrow.
It’s pretty quick and easy to put up and down so fine for one night stays.
It also lets loads of light in so the van is not dark inside at all.

I’ve been contemplating this over an air awning for my Dometic wind out awning
The clear long side panel was pretty cheap considering the new price of the sides.
I could see water coming down the inside of the sides if it was heavy rain though as there’s no way to seal the top canopy fabric to the sides.
This was the 3m one for my LWB but they do shorter ones also

Not technically anything to do with the van but I tried out my wee fire pit thing tonight.
I’m super happy with it considering it was £17.
I bought a box of 200 flamers for £11 and put 3 of them in it tonight and fired it up.
This is the result
It burns small sticks too.
This is a cheap quick and easy way to have a campfire and keep the midgies away.

I do like the look (and price) of that!

Well I have had months of the drivers rear light with moisture in it which quickly developed into indicator bulb warnings in the instrument cluster. Took the light out, cleaned up as best as I could including inside the lens, rather than waiting for it to dry out I got rather innovative......
30 minutes in the tumble dryer and all is good!
Please note our dryer does have a shelf, please don't try this in a normal tumble dryer drum 🤣🤣

Still looks knackered mate.
Think I’ve got a set of stock barn door lights in the garage
Make me an offer you like.

It very much is working! for how long is anyone's guess! The water staining in the lights is bad but getse out of a hole for now! Message me a rough price if that's ok, otherwise I have been considering THQ rears but really the cost isn't too appealing right now!

Just booked in for EGR replacement at VW Commercials £1956 Inc vat!
I got my EGR mapped out and a my T6 custom mapped for £450.
It’s flying now and no EGR or DPF to worry about going wrong now.
When the EGR died for the 3rd time on my T5.1 I got it mapped out also. It’s got 180k miles on it and runs great.
I’d be cancelling that booking and booking it in to get a remap instead
Will save you £1500, make your van run miles better and save you the expense of replacing the EGR or DPF again later.
