I made something similar to this however I had a few extra cuts - more trapezoid shape.Shelf fits perfectly. The tv idea is fantastic. We have a drop down projector screen that hangs on the bed board and a mini projector on a bracket attached to the overhead cupboard at the back of the van. Gives us the equivalent to a 50" screen picture size. All packs away into a small bag when not in use. Might look at drop down tv's anyway now you've planted a seedI made something similar to this however I had a few extra cuts - more trapezoid shape.
It's great for a shelf but I also fitted a bracket on the underside to which is attached the TV. I just simply push up on the TV to lower and push back up to lock away.
The 2 use mantra for the van - it's a shelf when the roof is up and a place to store the TV.

How easy was the ablemail to do? On my list of things I want to get done. Do you have solar? If so do you connect it direct to the MPPT?Installed ablemail yesterday was sure it’s a massive device but was shocked how small actually it is.
Today get ready to install water system and water heating plus table with sink and tap lets hope I manage do all before tomorrow![]()
It’s super simple, 3 cables. Best done to the DC-DC charger. One cable to the input from starter battery. Another to the output to the leisure battery. Third is negative. How easy was the ablemail to do? On my list of things I want to get done. Do you have solar? If so do you connect it direct to the MPPT?
I also did one a few weeks ago. Fills in the gap nicely when the roof is down and is a very useful shelf when the roof is up. Took a while to figure out what catches to use as it has to go in place last once the roof is down but found some gas locker catches that worked a treat.I made something similar to this however I had a few extra cuts - more trapezoid shape.
