What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Just watched it....... thinking I'd love to go out to the coast in this fantastic spring weather instead of working all weekend

My van is the worst car I've ever owned for the rear window getting covered in water when it's raining, I think it's the shape which causes a huge negative area behind which then sucks any spray and crap back onto the rear of the van.

I wonder if those huge deflectors that some caravan towers fitted to their roof racks would be more effective in keeping the rear screen clean. Might also squash the rear end down a bit.:D

Passenger side sound deadening this evening, dodo mat door skin, same on window regulator after removing all wiring and regulator (was much easier and learnt from doing drivers side the hard way!)
Dodo'd the door card much better on this side but not used any foam yet, will see how much room I have before refitting door card tomorrow. Can see me taking drivers side off to dodo it a bit more thoroughly depending on the results!

Yesterday I decided to prep the 20’s to put them back on after our 3500mile Spain trip. However, leaving them on the van over winter and not cleaning them has killed the polished face. Spent half a day with wet and dry and a buffer wheel with autosol to get the shine back. The alloys are a bit pitted though, so next time they look shabby they’ll be off for a powder coat.

That’s the worst wheel btw.
They still need cleaning and poor boys wheel sealant putting on.
That’s todays job along with cleaning the filthy van and changing the wheels over.

Took this out of our Kombi - it's served us well during some work on the house and garden.
Closed it's level with the folded rear seats and the area is big enough for a full sheet of plasterboard. Open allows for domestic appliances etc. Really good for keeping the dirty stuff contained and double boot floor handy for moving vast numbers of boxes.
Also gave a barrier to prevent the hound hopping in to the boot where his snacks were kept!!
I'm really pleased with how well it performed - however.

Van has been granted permission for less graft and work, and more for pleasure and trips - so it's surplus to requirements.

Happy to share measurements if you want to build one.

Or free to a good home if you can collect.

@Snoopi-y-Fan Was that fixed into the van? I'm think something similar once time allows and maybe put some side panels in place which I done about 6 months ago!!! How West in west Wales are you?
