What Have You Bought Today?

Spotted by 'The Breadknife' so just bought one of these for our camping cook setup - fingers crossed it's sturdy enough to take the Cadac 2 Cook 2 Pro plus gas and accessories.

I've learned over the years that it's best to just say yes to whatever shopping whims take over the Mrs as normally she's as tight as cramp! 🤣

We recently bought one almost identical to this, except for a hard wearing material cabinet that hangs under the table on the right. It has metal shelves that you place inside it. Anyway we found it a sturdy thing and were pleased with it.

I've always shied away from them until now but I received a pair of Quick Pops pop top straps in the post today and fitted them to the van. I always think the term 'game changer' is a bit of a cliché but I'm gonna say it anyway - Quick Pops are a game changer. To my untrained eye, they seem to be very well made indeed with reassuring thick and strong metal components as well as quality webbing and they are so much simpler and quicker to use that the usual 2M long cam straps. At this early stage, I just can't recommend them highly enough and at £35 they're one (or two, I suppose) of the best things that I've ever bought for the van.
Also from the same firm and in the same package, a pair of natty blue and white coat hooks in a VW stylie - 3D printed, about 53mm across and looking very cool for £8 (again, still to be fitted). Not quite the same shade of blue as the van but close enough.

Do you have a sliding board that closes over the Pop top when it’s down as I do? Do the quick pop stop that from closing over fully? I’d like to see how they look with a wider field of view if you’d be so kind? 🤔 Thank you.

@davecdjt - Yes I do have a hatch cover (one that I made myself rather than came with the roof) and no, the Quick Pops do not interfere in any way with it (but nor did the old cam straps either). That said, when I first designed and cut the cover, I did think that there might have been a bit of interference so made two small cut outs which it turned out weren't needed so I just covered them up. No way I'm getting into the van in this heat to take more pictures but I will do it in the morning and post them.
