What Have You Bought Today?

The digital dash thing from our very own @antony.charnley

Couldn't figure out the mileage calculator so messaged his website, only for my mind fart to clear and I sorted it a few minutes later.

Pricy, but I have the fine motor skills of Mike Tyson and the computer knowledge of an Amish farmer, so I have Antony to install it and the reassurance of his knowledge and back-up when inevitably cock something up in the settings.

Can't wait to get it in now,
Looking forward to this one, I know you've been looking for a long time at our glorious digidash I'm sure I'm not the only one who appreciates your contributions to the T6 forum, as a show of my appreciation I'm planning on throwing in a bit of an upgrade if you are in agreement and it will be useful. I've been working on integrating the connected kit so that it's pre-installed and integrated within the digidash!

The unit has proven to be very reliable with the aluminium heat sink installed and utilising a short internal HDMI connector designed for drone connections, the unit can be removed from its plastic housing internally connected to the DigiDash and then using a simple USB extension out of the back to run over to your head unit input, of course this is reliant that your head unit can support wired Carplay or Android Auto!

Here is the connected kit lf you wanted to check it out for more info EVEREST-VW DIGIDASH <--> HEAD UNIT Android Ai KIT: (Android Ai B I will also throw in a rechargeable remote control too just in case you need to control it independently from the head unit.

I received a shiny new CTEK MX5.0 Battery Charger from Mr Amazon Prime earlier today to replace exactly the same model that started playing up when I plugged it in earlier this week. The AC side was good but when the 12V end was plugged into the van, the yellow charging lights went on and off as the thing was moved (I use the dash ciggy lighter socket to charge). I managed to prise the case open but there was no obvious loose connections so I binned it and bought a new one. I'm convinced that this sort of stuff has a built in timer set to shut down once the warranty has expired - in this case, the warranty is 5 years and it packed up at 5 years 4 months.

Bought some new fog lights to replace the 💩 Vanstyle Chinese ones.
And a aux belt kit to hopefully stop the whistle I get all the time.

I got same TYC fogs for over a year now but before instal I run a bead of tiger seal/sikaflex all around joins. Been perfect no condensation as that was issue with my previous aftermarket ones, not sure if they needed the extra seal but thought it wouldn’t hurt

Another 12 months road tax - 15 quid more than last year , but my insurance renewal (with Comfort) is, surprisingly, about 25 quid cheaper .
I have used some of the saving for a parking ticket holder @T6Paul
