What Have You Bought Today?

I saw a review of the Temu DayPlus power ratchet in AutoExpress last week and decided it was worth a punt at only £18 so ordered one on Wednesday and it arrived today -
here's their review:
I worked on the basis that for that money, it wouldn't really matter if it turned out to be made of cheese and useless but actually it's seems pretty good. The box was reassuringly heavy and contained the tool itself, two batteries, a charger, a bag of sockets, a pair of work gloves and a carry bag to put it all in. Still got to use it in anger though so time will tell.

Expensive couple of months.

Driver door wouldn't shut - replacement lock.
Side door needed 4743636 key presses to open - replacement lock.

These expensive fixes have made it onto the wife's radar 😳

The only expense that is going to give me any joy is renewing my T6F membership.

Not exactly "bought", but paid for....£100 bloody parking fine (£60 for early payment) because I didn't realise Iceland had ANPR cameras in their pay & display car park.

I waited 13 minutes apparently, while SWMBO obeyed popped to the butchers. At least they got a nice aerial photo of the van:

Better man than me, paying that, it’d have gone straight in to the bin ;)

I'd spend the next 5 years worrying about bailiffs turning up to take the van away 😬
Hardly ever get any physical mail these days, and it's rarely anything good, but I did also get an invitation from the RSPCA to buy some raffle tickets, so the 40 quid I saved by paying early can go to them, which will make me feel much better

Couldn't bring myself to spend any more £££ yesterday after the parking fine , but today I have bought return ferry tickets Oban to Mull in early May, plus booked campsites on the way to and from, and at Salen Bay for four nights. Salen Bay is already getting booked up; I had to pay a bit more than expected because the only EHU pitches available for the dates I wanted were the jumbo ones. I made the mistake last year of not pre-booing our whole Skye trip, and had to make some frantic changes to my best laid plans at the last moment. So if anybody else is thinking of heading that way in the spring, my advice is get booking!

We did Mull in 2024, the weather was stunning everyday for a week in September. Stayed at Salen Bay and Port Nan Gael.

I'd quite like to buy a LWB T6 as I'm fancying getting a conversion done but it appears that's not at all simple these days. Regretting selling a Kombi a few years ago...actually saw a nice one in my local dealership but it's sold, according the sales exec when he finally got back to me. Wish I liked Ascot Grey, they did have a nice one of those in but it's a bit pasty for me.

Thr only reason i know not to but kiravans curtains is that rhey charge double compared to others. If you got em cheap then you're winning at life! Good job!

Brought a step.
It seems to fit well, it’s better on drivers side, the passenger side there is a slight difference in door frame profile but it works ok.
You can see by the door frame profile, the shorter versions of these steps won’t work, as there’s no room for a good foot placement, you need the longer version.IMG_7053.jpeg

I like the idea, but what do you hang onto when your'e up there?.....I tried imagining using one, but I couldn't find anything close enough to hang onto. I have 2 roof bars but the front one didn't give me much comfort.
