New dual window switch, the passenger side operation was sticking.
Closer investigation showed the plastic around the dowel had snapped off.


Thank God those sadistic engineers at VW didn't make the whole module a sealed unit, they definitely missed a trick there.
Replacement dual switch, £7.99 from Ebay.

Part number below, if anyone else needs to replace their switches.
