Vw t5 Speedo clocks swap

I’m purchasing a 07 t5. The speedo clocks missing a temp gauge. Obviously a very basic model. Is it as simple as swapping the clocks out to a set with the temp gauge ? Is it plug and play for it to work ? Don’t think I can look at them clocks looks a little bland.

Your clocks are coded to the ECU mate. The clocks are part of the immobiliser so matched to your key. New clocks have to be programmed to match your ECU and key. You could look at the digital clocks that Antony Charnley is offering. Not sure on cost, there is plenty of information on here about them.

I got this sorted. An indication this will work for anyone else intrested. Plug the new clocks in. The van won’t start until you’ve had it coded but as long as your vans up to temp , the gauge should work. Mine did.
Coded in and working as it should.
