Advice on purchase of VW Kombi T5.1

Defo looks like a t6 , does it have cup holders in the top of the dash ?
CAAA engine ? Euro 5 with no adblue ?
Is there a sticker in the front of the drivers seatbase ?

Thanks Jump ship , I’ll be honest I find it confusing and haven’t quite got my head around the models. Initially I just assumed his van was a T6 simply because they supposedly finished T5.1 production in 2015.
Then my cousin told me it was a T5, so I looked up my vehicle using the DVLA and seen that it was a 2.0 84ps Euro 5 engine and the put that info into chat GPT, which said it’s definitely a T5.1. I think that was based on the fact it didn’t have a Euro 6 engine. And that some dealerships will have purchased the vehicles from VW in 2015 but didn’t register them until 2016 (mine registered March 2016)

I've got an early 2016 registered T6, Euro 5 (no Adblue) as some early T6's were made before Euro 6 was mandatory.
My gut feeling is you got a very good deal there!

Wow that’s interesting. I’ll firm a few things up tomorrow. But I’ll be honest , I just can’t wait to get it tomorrow. Either way I think they’re just brilliant vans. Clearly a bonus if it’s a similar situation to your T6.

But I need to know I either way for insurance purposes.

That looks virtually the same as my T6 but as I've never had a T5 I'll leave it for others to tell you what it is!

I’ve just got off the phone from the insurers and I asked them what the registration linked to in their system but they simply said Transporter Kombi.

I didn’t start pressing them for T5 or T6?

I just assume they are happy insuring it based upon the registration details.

I personally don’t know enough detail about them to make a call on it.

All I do know is it’s the 84 ps euro 5 . 2.0 L engine. And the fact that when I put the info into Chat GPT it came back with the below. See screen shots. But now that someone has said they own a T6 with a Euro 5 engine. Clearly Chat GPT has provided incorrect information. Albeit mine may still be a T5.1.

Auto trader when providing a value only state it’s a Transporter doesn’t give me the model. Likewise checking with DVLA re, MOT it only states Transporter.

I’ll need to know one way other the other as it’s already been pointed out. It’s required for orders for parts.

Deffo a t6 dash......cup holders in the top and no covered glove box on the top of the dash just open bins.........I miss my massive t5.1 glove box

At least this can’t end up negative, it sounds like as a minimum if it’s classed as a T5.1 it’s got some T6 modifications. Which can only be positive for me

I think the front side indicator makes it a T6, I also have a very early 65 plate euro 5 version Kombi.
Looks like you got a cracking deal there, I paid 16k with 52k miles in 2019.
No adblue is a definite plus in my book though I was ignorant of that whole can of worms when I got it !
