VW All in plan .. again

My Bus is 3 years old end of November.
I called my Dealer today and the current cost of the All in is £1104 for the two year warranty and 2 service’s etc.
I did ask if there was any Black Friday deals coming and they said they are not aware of anything coming up.
Vans booked in on the 14th for MOT, service etc so will purchase then.
You watch, I’ll buy it then the Black Friday deal with emerge 🤣

That's exactly the price I was given back in July, without an incentive to pay in full. So, spreading over 24mts...

I was given the option for both. It’s on the VW commercial website too for both options.

If I were you, I'd hold off for a couple of weeks.

It's not going to go up.

Chances are, your van won't blow up in the next fortnight.

And think of how sick you would feel if you could have saved a few hundred!

But that's what I would do, I don't blame you if you just want to get it covered

3 years is up 27th November so I have time just turned 17k miles so I’m sure it’s fine 🤔

I asked at Preston Van Centre this week. The service advisor said that he would expect a discount in the next few weeks if one is to be offered. He did say that VW seemed to be less keen to offer discounts when compared to the rest of the VAG manufacturers. He said that he would ring me if he becomes aware of a deal. If I hear anything I will post on here.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you have no break in warranty (i.e. you go straight from Factory Warranty to All In) then you are covered.

If you have a break in cover then you might get hit by the "cooling off terms" if you were unlucky enough to need a claim very soon after purchasing. They're there to stop folks hearing a bad noise, buying the warranty, and turning up at the van centre the next day to claim on it.

Currently I think this kicks in after 30 days without cover, if the gap is larger than that you can't claim in the first 30 days of cover.

This is correct!
1 week before my 3 yr warranty ran out the heater stopped working.
Assist guy said it was a dashboard out and £1600 blower unit.
Put the request in and told me about "All In".
Said if it had gone 10 days later and I chose to extend the warranty, there would have be30 day period before I could claim.
This was in 2022, and I will be renewing next March for the third at 7yrs and 90,000 miles.
Had so much covered from wear and tear stuff like glow plugs and rear springs, to steering pumps and dual mass flywheel.
Before the next contract ends it will be sold, as I wouldn't want to own a T6 with no warranty.

7 years?

They only offer plans for vans up to 6 years.

Mine goes out of cover next summer, it will be 7 years old and this is the final plan I can have.

I just need the EML light to come on again then I can take it in for, presumably, it's 3rd EGR flush.

There are two 7 to 15 year plans but they don't have the warranty side of things, they're purely service plans. These are the ones I'm waiting for news of a discount.

Do such plans still represent good VFM?

VW Preston reckoned the saving would be about £200 on current servicing prices. I need to consider a few factors, main dealer servicing will be pricier than an independent but I'm not aware of a good independent around Preston, and prices are likely to rise so the saving could be greater over the lifetime of the plan. The other thing is that so far (since 2019) VW Preston have been very good, no attempts at upselling and I've no issues with them unlike the local Skoda main dealer with the rest of the fleet.

Had my Major service today and class 7 MOT (T32)
£575.00 😳.
Was gonna purchase the All in one today too but he said I can’t as my warranty hasn’t yet run out and can’t purchase till mine run out.
Anyway on the phone he said good news!
VW have emailed him today and a Black Friday deal is coming. No prices yet but defo a saving on the current £1104.
Booked in 3 warranty jobs.
Heated screen has a few elements not working on passenger side.
Sportline wing badges come unstuck and rear tailgate spoiler buckles under hot sun.
Thought I’d mention those bits but he said bodywork parts is covered for 6 years anyway.
Great service from my dealer. Even offered me a free 48 hr trial in an ID buzz and offered to buy my van for what I bought it for 🤣👍🏼

thanks for that, anyone know if you can cancel an active plan and then take out a new one ? mine doesn't expire until end of the year and I have used all services in the plan.

I had to call VW warranty people to get them to update their computer that my all in had expired before I could get another one on line, the dealer couldn’t do it; I’d give them a ring and see if they can cancel your current plan

When I took out my All In I had to cancel my existing service only plan - a mild faff as I'd used all the services on it but being still active it stopped me taking out a new one.

Just phone them, I had mild difficulty getting them to understand why I wanted to cancel it but you'll get there.
