The nerdy geek in me, made me go do research. According to Wikipedia, the silver one is circa 1985. Makes me 9/10 years old. Though I did have the 'Illuminator' at some point too.

I'm a Samsung guy mate. Sadly have 3 of these smart watches, including a rare first edition Gear S. The first Stand alone smart watch.

Get the smaller faced one, I’ve got a sneaky feeling the six is going to drop soon I’ve been looking at getting a garmin for ages but the fact the battery can’t be replaced puts me off £400 on something that’s going to be useless in 5 years doesn’t sit right with me guess it’s just today’s throw away culture.

Yeah, we're a wasteful bunch when it comes to it and, like you, that battery issue is one of a couple that keeps me from getting one.
Best watch is the solar powered Citizen.
